Architect wants more money after we have paid him
Comments (10)Sounds like he is trying (in my opinion quite rightly) to reopen conversations about fees. It sounds like you had an agreement about providing plans and he provided them and you settled his bill. You have gone back and asked for additional services and it sounds like he may have initially made a goodwill gesture and offered some advice for free but you expect him to prepare for this meeting and attend the meeting thereby offering his professional expertise and local insight. With travel time and time spent in discussion with yourselves there is likely several hours work. If he is unable to charge you for this he would be much better allocating his time to other fee paying clients. I say start a dialogue, make sure you have contracted him for what you immediately need him to do and open discussions about where else he might envisage his expertise may be useful to you- it may be that his contacts, or his project management experience or his influence to expedite matters might save you money long term....See Morewant wet room but don't want room getting wet!
Comments (6)I must admit I would go for a screen similar to that shown in the 2nd pic by man about the house. In terms of making it feel more spacious then larger tiles typically work with the tiles run horizontally to the long walls on the floor and then horizontal on the walls. You could keep walls and floors the same or go for something different on the walls but with little contrast. I'd have a really large mirror on one of the long walls. A floating trough style vanity rather than floor standing. I'd also go for the shower head on either long wall so you can have a niche for shampoo etc on the end wall...See MoreI want a really unique, colourful feel to my new villa!
Comments (3)Do you have any pictures? We would need to know a little bit more about the space? If you were our customer for the design I would also want to know a little more about you and your requirements for the space. For colour it really depends what light you have in the space? What the rooms are used for? What is in the rooms? ..The style and furnishings. Do you have any pictures that may help :) There are lots of unique ways you can get colour into a space and combinations of colour that you can use for impact. You could always consider working with a designer to get something unique to you and the space....See MoreOpen plan house and I want to add colour but make it look adult
Comments (1)Probably the best thing to do would be post some pics up of your space along with any furniture your planning on putting in and people will give your advice from there :-)...See MoreMERRICK DESIGNS
