Stair case

Hi ... debating between carpet or wooden/laminate (maestro-panel.com) stairs. House will be modern look. Wife concern about kids ( a 2 and a 1 year old) and feels carpet safer. Any advise please.

Wow what an amazing staircase. I think all laminate would be noisy and maybe dangerous for the babies. Some thing like this would work a bit of both but still modern.

Hi there,

I agree with Elaine, I think that a carpet runner would be a great option for you as the carpeted area will be safer for the children but you are also able to see the wooden steps and have a modern look.

Just a thought - have you considered using the lounge/snug as an open plan living/ dining kitchen area, connecting with the garden room and make the existing dining room as a TV lounge area ? The current kitchen seem to be in a sort of corridor.
