Comments (2)What a fabulous room! Cream floor tiles throughout would look terrific. As long as you don´t have a black dog. I have both and have to sweep three times a day. With plain flooring you could add a nice splash of colour behind the cooker....See MoreMantle or hood?
Comments (19)Stainless steel hood in image keeps things more open & spacious whereas builtin mantle may reduce your worktop space which I would prefer to keep. May I suggest another option in image below - a very simple canopy (may be called something else in kitchen speak) which extractor is fitted into, this can also be fitted with lights as per image. This is a good compromise between both ideas as it is contemporary, still a feature but less obtrusive perhaps as doesn't interfere with light or worktop space? Good luck & would love to see image when completed....See MoreOver Mantle Mirror Advice Help
Comments (16)The thing that strikes me when I look at your room and the kitchen, is that it's quite a collection of different styles. I think the key thing you could do to calm it down is to pull the colours together. I mocked something up to show you what I mean. I didn't go for a mirror that reflects all the different things, but for a painting with the red of the chair, the green of the plant and curtains, the blue of the tiles. I also painted the dining chairs blue. And changed the light in the kitchen to pewter pendants. I also gave you bar stools that are less country in style. Hope it helps....See MoreHidden canopy cooker hood - help!

If you are looking for a quality long term investment it may be worthwhile spending a little extra on the miele! With that said, sometimes the cheapest options are the quality ones (We purchased many high end electric showers with no luck but a more cheaper triton shower lasted for a good 5 years before we removed it to renovate). It may be worthwhile having a look through online reviews. All the best...See MoreSarah W
