We would like to strip the bathtub and install a shower and put one of these towel rail radiators. The room is pretty small 1,85 x 1,89.

I dont' think I can change the loo position because of the large waste pipe and I would like to keep works to a minimum to save on costs. Any advice on hand?

P.s. I like white marble tiles or the equivalent porcelain imitation, but I have no idea for flooring, lighting or/and fittings.

the room has no window.

I like light colours also taking into account the dimension of the room.

I prefer something darker and perhaps warmer and not so slippery for the floor (someone suggested Amtico)

We have renovated many small bathrooms. Here are a few ideas.

This one has a shower screen that can 'close' when not using the shower - offering more floor space.

Hi Anna. Can you include a plan which shows window, door and WC position? You also don't have any ideabooks set up so it would be useful to know which styles and colours you like etc

Hi,

I think what you are asking for is completely do-able. A floor plan would be of great help!

Do also consider polyflor, specifically the polysafe flooring which is made to withstand water spillages ; it is very durable with non slip properties.

I also like the green although perhaps it would be less controversial if part of the room were half tiled. Not so sure about the floor though. I think I would have rather seen something from the same colour palate, the same shaped tile or perhaps a wood finish.

i have just finished our ensuite bathroom -still waiting for shutters and bits to finish off so looking a bit bare still - but photo attached as we used Laura Ashley patterned tiles on the floor and one of the shower walls, which are quite victorian but modern and reasonably priced (also available in a darker grey). We then used plain white tiles for the rest of the room which were only £10 sq m. The little wall shelf unit is from Graham & Green. our sink is Duravit 65cm so quite big - they do smaller sizes. sorry can't figure out how to get these photos the correct way up!!

great work! my only criticism, but this is very personal, the mirror is a bit high for a pertit woman like me. once had a builder installing a nice Bauhaus's mirror, half sunk into the wall, all wired up, looks great in photo, until I stood in front and can not see my chin. Have to strip all and re do. may be OK for you guys, but still better if can see your six packs in the mirror!

Think that this shower room is about the same size as yours. So it could definitely work. Have you considered a walk-in shower like this, with a fixed glass panel?

A wall hung basin with storage underneath would be a good option. It gives you storage and it's free from the floor, which will look more spacious.

I think that lots of manufacturers have space saving ranges that would fit much better than your current suite. I found a plan online of someone else's bathroom to help illustrate that by modern standards your bathroom is not small.
I would keep everything in the same position- I would have a P-shaped shower bath but swap the taps and shower to the opposite end.
It may be easier to fit everything in if you swap the bathroom door to a smaller one- a 750mm door is plenty and with architrave this will leave about 1000mm on that wall (you need 850mm for the shower end of the shower bath).
I would be curious to see if I could make the room larger- for instance what is behind the panel by the side of the WC?
You also need to get an electrician to make the wiring safe- that socket by the sink does not meet regulations.
I think your instinct for pale tiles mixed with wood will look great. I think the wood is necessary to help a windowless space feel warm. I think people's instinct with small spaces is to paint everything white but some dark wall paint will give the room depth and class. I wish you the best of luck.

Poor Anna - you chose a bad day to be new! My app isn't working properly and I discovered that if I made ANY comment, it let me see the rest. By the time I got to yours I was just writing anything to get it to work! Hope everyone else's comments will be more useful and that you enjoy Houzz. It's a great site and very addictive- you will see the same names over and over again giving great advice.

I sometimes have the same problems with the app, dundrum :-)

Anna, I agree with Jonathan about colour in a small, windowless room. All white can be very clinical and cold, and a wood look LVT (luxury vinyl tile) floor will definitely bring warmth. There are other LVT suppliers too that do floors suitable for bathrooms.

There are also marble look wall panels that are suitable for showers, instead of tiles. Maybe worth taking a look at those. Some look good online, but I'm not sure whether they look as good in real life. I've seen really lovely ones live, but also ugly ones. Same goes for tiles. Question of personal taste and good research.

To take advantage of the wooden cupboard by the loo, that houses the pipes, I was thinking of rotating the toilet of 45° thus hiding the cistern but also the extralarge ugly drain (that need to be cut and sub with a more "modern" one). But how will it look a loo facing the shower glass instead of the entrance? Will it be too weird?

No, it won't be weird to face the shower instead of the door. But it would be weird if your knees were tucked under the sink, so either the loo has to move to the right on that wall, or you have to move the sink to another wall.

The bath tub that I will be removing is made of cast iron. Could it be of interest for someone, perhaps an architectural salvage? It will be a shame to destroy it. Nowadays the bath tub are plasticky but mine given a new coat of enamel could look fab and will last for ever.

Help, I am in distress!! the person who designed my new bathroom layout has suggested a 90x90 offset shower but then the fitter said to that it will look too big. Now I do not know what to do. Do you think that a shower of 90 will look to big in a bathroom of meters 1,85 per 1,73?

Hi, We have a small shower room coming off the utility which is 2m*1.5m and it comfortably houses a 800*1200 quadrant

it shouldn't look odd in the space you have; did your designer provide you with 3D renders. if not it may be worthwhile marking the toilet/sink shower and seeing what it looks like or using cardboard boxes.

Here's a quick 3D view just so you can see exactly what it looks like...our plumber recommended we get a 700 offset quadrant but was pleased when we got the 800 offset and said it worked much better.
