Need help for my kitchen in a holiday home
Comments (22)Hi - just checking in before I shut down the computer ! Thank you Joe !!! Roselyne, love the photos !! Looks so quaint !!! So, France ! Much more liberal with regard to planning (phew!!) how lovely ! Yes, that cottage look would fit in so well !!! The last project I did in France was an old watermill in Rennes - beautiful location - but a nightmare to find a good furniture manufacturer !! Have you sourced anything yet ?! Or are you thinking of bringing it all over by road ?!?!...See MoreNeed help for my kitchen
Comments (7)If you want a more integrated country look, have your kitchen professionally spray painted in a pale grey or white after rehanging the wall units so that they are all level. Replace the light pelmet to something plainer. The worktop around the sink has gone quite dark from the constant presence of water. Consider having all the tops replaced with oak to coordinate with your floor. Wood knobs or pewter handles will complete the cabinetry. Remove the tiles and replace with patchwork tiles to give you more colour. Make sure you pick up the cabinet colour and the floor colour in the tiles. http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod44324/batik-patchwork-blue-tile.html Paint the remaining walls with a pale colour to keep the room light....See MoreNeed help for my kitchen
Comments (22)There are kitchen companies that can replace the doors, plinths and end panels etc thus completely changing the colour of your kitchen but using existing units. One I know if is Dream doors which my neighbour used to go from dark wood to cream and I cannot tell they are the old units. I like your kitchen, the layout seems good. I feel whats making it feel a bit dated is the amount of orangey pine or similar wood. Even changing the door knobs would help. If you wanted a greater change, a handleless slab kitchen in either a matching cream as the aga, or a grey might work? As an aside, changing the colour of the floor might help too....See MoreNeed help for my kitchen
Comments (3)Is it possible to move the white goods and sink up starting from the 'L' shape heading up towards the stairs, if the units that make up the 'L'shape are about 1800 mm moving that part of the kitchen up would still give a walk through of 7-800 mm to then you fit your dinning table in comfortably in the space where the sink etc were, all plumbing provisions could come from the downstairs wc it would just be the waste that would need a small modification possibly to get it outside. You could also extend the worktop a little on the 'L' shape bit to form a breakfast bar area, unfortunately doing this if possible will mean no room for an island, hope his helps....See Morecandy pixie
