Bathroom - which walls need tiling?
Comments (8)Hi. I don't think it is necessarily old fashioned and it is practical, especially around a sink and looks way better than just having a little patch of tiles above the vanity! Also, if you already have the half-tiled wall, replastering all the walls will be necessary if you decide not to have tiles (as xtine74 said). I'd tile to the ceiling around the bath/shower and end it at the end of the bath near the toilet and then go down to the half-tiled wall you already have. I don't know about your style, but here are a few pictures to look at that will hopefully help you decide: Oh, and I wouldn't do a big wall cabinet over the loo....they can look a bit clumsy and are hard to reach. How about a few hooks down that side or open shelves and then have a proper cabinet under the sink that goes from the window wall to the sticky-out bit on the other side of the sink? (PS I'm with you on not liking brown and beige in a bathroom.)...See Morebathroom with wood floor...which tiles?
Comments (4)Hi, Yeah I'd go just one colour as well as I think it gives a bit more of a modern look. I think greys would look nice. We have a range of matt metro tiles which look really smart and there are some pale grey colours if you were worried a dark grey might be too dark. Have a look here: http://www.bellissimotilesandtools.co.uk/metro-tiles-41-c.asp Hope this may of been some help. Steve...See MoreBathroom floors - porcelain floor tiles or vinyl floor tiles?
Comments (18)Porcelain is a tough tile which will not crack or break easily. they are very long lasting. vinyl is out dated and just doesn't look good. Your other option should be ceramic tiles. So it should be between ceramic and porcelain. I'd still recommend porcelain but ceramic is cheaper, that's the biggest advantage of ceramic. I bought these porcelain tiles two weeks ago, they look lovely. beautiful hexagon porcelain tiles...See MoreHow to clean my bathroom matt floor tiles?
Comments (8)Thanks for your reply. I got in touch with the company I bought those tiles from and they advise me to use a matt sealer on the tiles. They recommended this one https://www.tonsoftiles.co.uk/ltp-mattstone-1l.html. Also they said I need to use a special washing liquid for the floor. The tiles are beautiful but require special care. Hopefully we will all be pleased with the final result. Thanks again!...See MoreDan
