Advice - help needed with layout / design of tiny shower room
Comments (11)Hello Karen, Yes a wet room style, there is no need for a glass partition at all (although some people do like to add one anyway) and in a large space can be nice. In your case there's no need and therefore no need to have a specific shaped tray.. The room is fully tanked and therefore the shower spray will go directly towards the floor. As you can have a wall or ceiling mounted shower rose angled where you want and the floor will have drainage usually a gradient but there are several options here. The "tray" often used will be hidden under the tiling or finish of the flooring and so specific shape negated.. For a seamless look I like floor and walls to match.. Of course how you want to deal with that is of course your preference.. It does though give you far more scope with the room, because you do not need to angle things to make them fit.. I always suggest wet rooms specifically for the reasons I mentioned and have been using this term for a long time which for me works to describe what I'm suggesting. I think it will work for you nicely.. You could also consider built in towel shelving and I rather like the seat in the second image.. some visual inspiration. : ))...See MoreNeed quick fix help for w/c, please!
Comments (10)This room is an ideal blank canvas! I would replace the tiles behind the sink with a more modern design...mosaic sheets would be so easy to use here as it's a tiny space to be covered. Check the Templo ones from Topps Tiles - I've attached a photo. I would then choose a nice dove grey colour for the walls to give the room depth but still keep it light and airy. Replace the mirror with something more decorative and add baby blue accessories as in towels etc....See MoreSafety regulation - between gas hob & wall cabinets. Need quick advice
Comments (14)If you look above you will see I answered this question in 2018. I must repeat get hold or the manufacturer of the gas hob. La Cornue which I used to be the exclusive importer of from France has huge burners, which are commercial in size and use, so 150mm would not be nearly enough on one. The manufacturer will have done tests and should be able to give definitive guidance. Don’t forget if you put a pan on the hob the flame will span out far further under it. On Monday I would get hold of the manufacturer - I hope that helps....See MoreAwkward floor plan - need design advice/help
Comments (6)Thank you all for your thoughts / advice! We are yet to move in but we know the house needs rewiring and a few new windows etc so we are keen to get started as soon as we get the keys. I agree the bay window is a lovely feature and I’ve been looking at creating a bench seat with a small table for our every day family dining and then I am wanting something larger to host dinner for our extended family as we have quite a large family and would love to host Christmas and birthdays etc. The kitchen is clean and well looked after, just needs modernising to our taste. There is no immediate rush to replace it unless of course we extend / move things around. I also have my own business that involves cake decorating so creating an island or space so that I could work from home would be a reason for us to extend the kitchen. I think you’re right in that we need to live in the house for some time and get a feel of which areas we are wasting / not utilising and decide from there....See MoreMidcenturylass
