Thanks so much - I absolutely love those colours and the idea of name above crib! A cot will fit in the recess but I think I prob prefer it at the end of the bed so I can easily peek in. To be honest whilst I want to paint etc, we know the furniture is fairly short term. We have some older relatives who live further afield and I want them to have a comfy bed to stay in for the time being since baby will be in with us for a while - we know that in a years time we're prob looking at converting the garage into a spare bed though just no time/money to do that at mo - but def want babba to have run of the nursery and lots of floor space once they're crawling! As for the bedsides they are actually holding everything baby related clothes wise at the mo as no wardrobe in there I was thinking about adding some picture ledges between the windows too for outward facing books to add something to the walls and maybe vintage animal a-z flash cards above the head of the bed?

I think the Graphite splashback will co-ordinate nicely with the island; my only worry, personally would be everything being white And grey as it could look cold...But this is your space and it should be how you like it as you will be spending times... As you prefer a minimalist look, I'd say large format tiles to minimise the number of grout lines. This could be in a light grey or a slightly darker grey shown in your image. To add more interest to gloss cabinets I would consider white-wash/light grey wood effect tiles...This will help add texture and slight warmth to the room. All the best.

From your other posts I notice the paint colours you have tested are from Laura Ashley? If so I think you (or mum) is limiting your choices as they only have a very few colours. I do like the look of the sable colour and looks like it might team well with the red but I fear this may be too dull for your taste. You could try Dulux timeless as it’s a pale neutral and good all rounder, then re evaluate when the kitchen is finished. Another option is to take one the cream doors to a decorating centre and see if they can match the door colour but take it a couple of shades lighter.
