Wooden flooring or Amtico wood look flooring
Comments (13)If considering wood you could get unfinished wood installed. Companies such as Wood Floor Accessories are a great supplier. Having it finished on site means a finish can be picked that works for your home. Each home has variables such as pets, different traffic and the owners desire to maintain the flooring or aversion to maintenance. Having wood finished on site has advantages. You can pick the highest quality product that works for your budget. The range of finishes available is quite wide. A professional company will try to understand your home and recommend the appropriate finish. They will also understand how easily the finish was can be renovated in the future. Amtico is an extremely robust product but being plastic, is just plastic flooring. It has its place, as does wood. In areas that have plenty of light surfaces, scratches show very easily on Amtico, Karndean etc. The manufacturers push a polishing maintenance product on consumers. However, this needs to be stripped and reapplied on a regular basis....See MoreWooden floor for dining and kitchen
Comments (9)Hello, Your options are to choose a pre- finished product, in which case the supplier should be able to send you samples (as honeypoppet says), or buy unfinished boards - in which case you should work with your fitter to test finishes. For example, on this project we sanded down the existing boards and finished with Osmo - one coat of white and one of clear - this gives a 'wash' rather than 'paint' finish: https://www.houzz.co.uk/hznb/projects/rachel-ec1-2-bedroom-flat-pj-vj~5633340 More advice on types of wood finish here: https://absoluteprojectmanagement.com/wooden-flooring-part-2-aesthetic-choices/...See MoreWhich paint for kitchen (white cabinets, black worktop, wooden floor)
Comments (4)I always like white units and wood, so great that the floor is wood so you could add more wood with shelving and chopping boards. Pic below. Or a mid grey can look nice like the second pic which is Dulux Chic Shadow....See Morewood slab kitchen, can I still have a wood effect floor?
Comments (7)It could work if the floor is much paler, as in the example below, but it’s tricky. I think a nice pale grey or pale beige floor would be less of a clash. Laminate comes in many styles, not just wood effect, so worth visiting some flooring stockists to have a look. Or how about LVT which is warmer underfoot and seems to be very popular?
