The kitchen units are by ourselves, deVOL Kitchens, and they are painted in one of our own shades called 'Mushroom'. We hope this helps.

Hello, We would agree with the other comments above. There is no rule that you must abide by but generally speaking if you are to have a two toned kitchen, lighter colours for wall cabinets and the darker colour would be used on the base units, as for the tall cabinet this is very much a 50/50 decision. I wouldn't make the base units any lighter than they are as they work tonally. I am possibly alone in thinking it actually looks balanced as it is, but if you are going to change it I would match the base units to the window colour. The pic shows a very similar palette to yours, but maybe replace the dark brown to a charcoal colour. White and pink is very feminine. It needs the slabs of dark to balance it.

In my opinion it is the saturation level of the paint that is the problem. The beauty of your kitchen is the natural flooring and the wooden worktops, it looks earthy. This is swamped by the blue paint, it just looks wrong. Without seeing the cupboard door colours close up it is tricky but I would suggest looking for something a bit darker than the cupboards but with the same hue. If you want a strong contrasting wall a deep olive green would work as it would balance the wood and the purpley greys.
