This is on a steel frame cantilevered from the wall. The stone material is from Okite.

Visualising your colour scheme, I would choose a soft white tile, perhaps Zellige as mentioned above— these tiles are different variations of the same colour . There is a trend at the moment for using quartz continuing up the wall, whilst this can work well, if you wish to avoid that blocky look of a solid slab, tiles can provide a softer finish. In terms of maintenance, if you have an induction hob there will be very little splashing of foodstuffs as this is a gentle way to cook. However, if you are cooking over a flame, I would probably not opt for tiles as there can be a lot of foodstuffs splashing back behind hob. I chose tiles over induction hob in new kitchen and am delighted with result.

There is quite a lot of information on Cosentino's website about this surface. https://www.cosentino.com/en-gb/silestone/ It may be too soon to get a good proportion of reviews, positive and negative. I would speak to a few high end kitchen design companies and find out whether they are specifying it and what the feedback is like. If there are problems then they would most likely have to deal with them as the worksurface would have been sourced and fitted through them, not independently. Order quite a few samples in the finish you like and then do stain tests yourself with lemon juice, red wine, etc. I would also try to get a slightly larger piece and do edge chipping tests. I agree that the warranty is unlikely to cover accidental chipping on edge. Your decision entirely.

How long have you had the worksurface? Did you have it installed or was it a previous owner? Quite a few brands of quartz are under warranty for quite a long period. When did you first notice these marks? Can you not forward the supplier the pics you uploaded so they can have a look without making a visit and charging you?
