Window on to a proposed utility room

We are proposing a single storey wrap around extension. My main concern is how to treat a window in the existing living room which will look out on to the extension. We don't want to brick it up as it will make the room too dark. Ideas have been to brick up partially to create a letterbox window higher up / replace the opening with a single pane of glass and put a frosted film over it. We don't want to create a door either! Any thoughts would be very gratefully received.
