Is there are ideas anyone can see, leaving the room positions where they are, but possibly moving some walls, conservatory to go, do I need an en-suite in such a small Bungalow. The reception room was originally vaulted, should I open it up again? I'm chopping and changing and can't move forward, any help or suggestions, greatly appreciated, budgetalso the conservatory is to be demolished, it's ancient!

6 years agoWhy is the conservatory on that side of the property? If the best views/ sunshine/ access to the garden/ privacy perhaps you should swap the bedrooms and living room

Comments (8)Sorry, just to add- Downstairs we need a kitchen with dining area, separate lounge, Utility, Study large enough for 2 adults, Master bedroom with ensuite and a W/C. We really dont care where each thing is as long as it flows better. The room labeled "room" could be a library/Boot room/general entrance lobby. It has alot of light which is why we wanted to open it up more near the entrance as we felt the hall was too narrow, but we also didn't want to loose the room completely. Comments (3)I wonder if the plan is ambitious enough- of course the architect might have delivered within your stated budget and what you really want will cost more. In my opinion the current proposal doesn’t give you a particularly big living space and I would be worried that the garage conversion isn’t big enough for its purpose and wouldn’t recoup its value when you eventually sell. 6 years agoThe back of the house, ie the bedrooms are only dark because of the window placements. Neither of them have windows on outside walls, they were obviously originally on the back of the house and when the conservatory was put on, they were not changed to the sides, thus they only get diffused light.
If you do not have the budget to amend the conservatory and are keen to demolish it, then you can re-instate the windows on the end walls or move them to the sides, problem solved.
However, if as I suggested in the original post you can keep the conservatory and amend it ( Jonathan re-iterated this in his post ), then you can put windows in the side walls to gain light and get a great layout too. ( probably in many ways ), but here's and artist's impression. ( obviously not to scale as we don't have dimensions )
