I am looking for a light like those in the ceiling here. Can you tell me what they are and where I might find them? Thanks!

Sorry I don't know the exact make and model but you can find something similar at Living Lighting (http://products.livinglighting.com/catalog?itemNumVal=&itemNumVal=artcraft+loft&go=Join) or even Home Depot (https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.1-light-brushed-pewter-ceiling-mount-clear-glass.1000667813.html)

They say a house is not a home unless there's someone living there and that is true, for once someone moves into a house, that house gets a personality and becomes a home. My home is a mix of me, someone I'd like to be and clutter I should throw out. It is warm, inviting and a home that is filled with memories. I enjoy all the things associated with a home, my TV dramas, films, garden and oddities, such as my quirky bathroom, with its old fashioned coloured bathroom suite, Persian rug and teddy bear, which I refuse to change regardless of fashion. My home is me; I don't need the dramas of the outside world, my home has seen enough to rival any on TV and through it all, my home has looked after me and I it. For me, that is what is called 'Home!'

Hello. I'm not really a nostalgia-fan (unlike my husband, will go misty-eyed & deploy 100mile stare at the drop of a trilby!) BUT we are currently doing a 'retro' concept in our living room, complete with a turntable clock and other bits of retro-inspired, but highly contemporary kitsch and quirk. Personally I find full-on retro rather tacky, superficial and soul-less, lacking personality, depth and individuality. On the flip-side, the most 'stylish' and inspiring examples I've seen of mid-century (and its relations) rooms have been those which appreciate the designs and the inspirations behind them, almost bestowing a timelessness on them, restoring a style credibility which had been lost. There was a fabulous example of this in a rental houseboat in Amsterdam - blending some of the post-war futuristic idealism design items, or 'Bond villain lair' (minus lasers and sharks of course) with contemporary high tech, for a result that was truly lust-inspiring. I particularly enjoy working on small living spaces. I take my love of sailing and the clever use of storage on yachts and combine this with white neutral colours to make the most of storage and space. Metamorphic dual purpose furnishing and minimal living, can make the smallest pads, into palaces.
