suggestions for exterior paint colours please

Painting the siding, the trim and front door. NOT painting brick.
Want garage door to disappear/blend in and front door to POP!

I think the trouble will be with the Front door a different colour to the shutters and the rest of the woodwork. To my mind they all have to match. So the front door, shutters, windows, garage door should all be the same for the sake of unity and a seemless finish.

I'd go dark grey for the bulk of it to match the dark grey in some of the bricks, with a slightly lighter ( a couple of shades ) for everything else. I'd remove the large conifer from the right of the front door and then soften the result with planting.

Hi Lisa, To make the front door 'pop', try opting for a colour on the opposite side of the colour wheel to the bricks such as blue. Orange and blue always set each other off.

Would nomally keep house and garage in same colours as it helps define the space and make it look larger. ( not that it needs much help in that direction ). I'd go for a cream ( magnolia ) or a nice RAL colour beige / green think it's 1000..( a very nice tradtionial period colour ) ........as either will help the stonework stand out. Good luck getting the Virginia Creeper off, makes a hell of mess with brickwork!

Thank you, I tend to agree. Unfortunately the photo of the front of the house has not uploaded - the front is red brick and the aspect that I really would like suggestions for. Will perhaps try adding a new post. Best wishes, Trish

Hi all, I know this is now several months old - however I’ve finally reached the top of my decorators list and he comes next week to paint the front door. I opted for Little Greene Celestial Blue as recommended by Sonia (thank you!). My question now is should we have celestial blue on the door frame too, or should we stick with white?? A quick Google search show pretty much a 50-50 split!!! Thanks in hope that someone reads this 🤞

Love the gray scheme!! And the idea of removing that one cedar to the right of the door. What app was used to re-colour my house? I'd like to play around with that. :-)

I use a combo of Johnstones Paint Visualiser and MS Paint. Just click on the link, then click on paint your room, upload your photo and off you go, it's easy to get the hang of.
