Chimney Breast advice in 1900 property
Comments (7)Thanks Liam! We had the living rooms (they're knocked through) quite high up our priority list, however they've been slipping downwards quite quickly. We're also planning to sand the floors etc, so rather than decorating properly (ie, removing the embossed wallpaper as well as the questionable feature wallpaper and getting the whole thing replastered), we're just removing the feature wallpaper, replacing it with matching embossed and giving it a fresh coat of paint. Then we're figuring we can take the plunge and do the floor, plastering and reopening of the chimney breast all in one go. The stench of the house kind of turned our priorities upside down!...See MoreKitchen extraction in a large space - advice needed asap please
Comments (10)The reason being, I expect, is that due to the volume of your space you are needing something efficient, quiet and unobtrusive ... I've screen shot two examples to show you - the first extracts 500m3per hour but is only 35 decibels loud . The second is a smeg kitchen specific one - it does go up to 800m3 per hour but at a whopping 71 decibels loud ! If this is a living area too - that's just too loud ! In order to get signed off - most build projects, which include fitting a new kitchen, needs a fan that's as good as or better than the one that was there previously ... so that might be another reason . Lastly - money ... the smaller quieter one is actually quite a bit cheaper ! So this might be another reason ! Hope that helps a bit ! :-)...See MoreAdvice re best 'white' for beautiful Georgian property
Comments (9)That's true they don't do oil based! I've used little Greene intelligent eggshell (water based) on my kitchen cabinets and am really happy with how hard wearing it is which has been on 3 years. Just walnut is a great colour, it can have a pink undertone which some people like and some don't. Their Egyptian cotton is also a great colour. F&B elephants breath is very popular but can read as more grey if the rooms are lacking light or try the lighter skimming stone which is close to Egyptian cotton. It might be worth looking at little Greene Rubine ashes or the slightly darker dash of soot or limestone or mortar....See MoreCreative designer needed ASAP
