What a beautiful and perfect table you found! Hubba hubba - those legs are just gorgeous. Well done and thanks for calling out to me. As for the chair mix, I think four beige and two merlot would be lovely. I think you like a traditional look, so I'm a bit worried that you won't be happy with it. If the table will normally be smaller with four beige chairs around it and maybe put the two merlot ones on either side of the radiator cover/"console", then definitely do the mix. Mismatched chairs around a dining table are often all different or the same make and model in a multitude of colours or the same colour in different styles. Do a Houzz search and see if you can find your planned mix and if you like the look. If in doubt, get four beige and look at them for a while! You could tie the two chair colours together with little cushions on the chairs - maybe just on the two merlot ones. I'm just nearing the end of a major house refurb and had quite a few trickeee little alcove'y numbers to contend with In one of the bedrooms I decided to split the room and make use of both of the little critters! To the left hand side of the chimneybreast, I removed an ugly cupboard which had a 'feature'!! air vent!! (courtesy of the previous owners putting a fist/foot through the door) and installed secret cupboards hidden behind faux panelling. It works very well if you need extra storage for bits and pieces that you don't need access to 24/7 and if, like me, you get broken into and some little oik steals all your tools, it is handy for concealing any valuables To the right hand side where the louvre doors are, I put up a stud partition wall and shoe horned in a shower room which is a little over a metre wide and 3m long and now have two rooms from one ... Nice colour. What is it? Thinking of using similar in my lounge. Here’s a few inspo pics for painted fire surround (click to enlarge). I’ve included a couple of fire places where they are all one colour which I quite like the look of so for me I’m going to stick with my gut instinct and say the same colour as the skirting. But don’t take my word for it, the choice is absolutely yours! I always find holding a F&B colour chart against all the surrounding objects and in different lights helps me make a decision. Hope this helps.

Sorry I forgot to reply..I like the dark furniture in the 2nd pic i posted. ikea Hemnes is a black brown which may be worth a look but I’m not sure how size compares to yours. i tried painting the walls in a similar colour but it came out rather dark! Your curtains are rather lilac so have tried adding more purple tones. I can’t photoshop btw, made worse due to the camera angle (!) but it was just to give you an idea. Anyway, i would layer the bed with throws and cushions and consider adding a pendant light, the feather ones are great for texture and can be hung a bit lower than normal as no damage if your head hits. Plug in wall lights could be an alternative to lamps. Linen bedding is also great for a cosy feel (used with a plump duvet A blanket box may fit at the end of the bed for extra storage if needed
