Any Advice Beautifying This Unattractive House?
Comments (11)Hi. Can you not paint the windows? Something in a soft green for a country look or grey for modern. I'm not sure how big the porch will be but I would be tempted to put another window in upstairs to create some symmetry and let light in.I'm not sure shutters would fit on the ground floor? I would also extend the lawn/ garden so it's in line with the corner of the house just leaving a path to the back gate. Agree with other comments re using climbers, creating a border and adding height etc. something planted along the path would look good depending on what style you're after...See MoreCurb appeal
Comments (6)To my eye the main thing curbing any appeal the house may have is a huge car park where a garden should be. It needs to be broken up with something softer. Plant life, for instance. Pots, planters, raised beds, anything to break up the dreariness. Large expanses of inert materials do not appeal from the kerb or from any other perspective. Think about looking out onto that day after day. Whatever you do with the house itself the view will still look boring whether from inside or out until something is done about that huge dead space....See MoreKerb appeal
Comments (21)I feel your pain......................this is why i am now a Handyman and not a property developer!! - Too old, too much pain (mental and physical ), just no get up and go, it's all got up and gone! p.s I don't think it needs a full re-furb - it's lovely. I'm pretty sure it's just that utility door and the front door issues. I don't think the planners could have an objection to adding to the wall as is and including gates, in fact, I don't think you need permission. Neither would itaffect the ability for the road users to see what's coming on the main road. This is the rule for walls:- Planning permission is not required provided that: 1. The wall or fence is not more than 2 metres in height anywhere on your property except where it adjoins a road or footpath. In this case the height is restricted to 1 metre I think you're right about buyers seeing the potential change of layout, and if you can show them a plan and sketch when they're viewing I think it would help. Have a break!...See More"Low budget exterior before and after"
