Opinions/Advice on kitchen design
Comments (2)To put it into clothes fashion terms - It's a bit like mixing spots, stripes and block colour in one outfit ... Stripes and a block colour work or spots, but all together is overkill ! Try to stick with one colour - and one wood - adding different tones of the same colour or wood should be ok - but not different woods. You can add interest with paint colour too ( and that is easy to change )...See MoreWhat colour to paint kitchen units?
Comments (22)I wouldn't make the base units any lighter than they are as they work tonally. I am possibly alone in thinking it actually looks balanced as it is, but if you are going to change it I would match the base units to the window colour. The pic shows a very similar palette to yours, but maybe replace the dark brown to a charcoal colour. White and pink is very feminine. It needs the slabs of dark to balance it....See Morekitchen units colours help!!
Comments (30)Hi there, we have just had our kitchen finished in navy blue (RAL2004) we found the 2011 too light. We used Silestone calatatta gold worktops, full height splash back and island worktop, we painted all the walls in Little Greene Tusk, which brings warmth to the walls. Maybe look at a darker oak flooring, as this will add a lot of warmth to the room, we went with an antique oak (I normally absolutely hate dark/antique oak but for me, the floor makes our kitchen)....See MoreGalley Kitchen - opinions on having a different colour each side
Comments (14)If there is a run of units in one colour and an island unit in different colour, (which is not at all uncommon judging by pictures here on houzz) what colour is the side of the island facing the other units? The island colour or the unit colour? It is seldom shown in the pictures published here. If it is the island colour then doesn't that effectively make a galley kitchen with a different colour each side?...See MoreA S
