HELP!!
I need to choose my ceiling lights over my Island.
Three cables are under the plaster board ready to rock and roll but I'm stuck to what to go for.
My units under the island are grey and I think I'm going for wood effect Kardean for the floor.
Help and suggestions would be gratefully received.
Last thing....my budget is small.

Comments (4)It really depends on how high your ceilings are and the type of look you are going for. Will they make a statement or are they purely functional? I'd usually go for pendants with fixed shades because I'm usually committing to a style and I've chosen something I truly love. However, you can get some beautiful glass shades from places like made.com . Diminishing Returns
6 years agoI've recently been impressed with prices and designs at wayfair- can't advise about quality though. Hard to say no to light for under £7 though!

6 years agoSarah- I am sorry that my earlier comment landed badly- likely because there is so much disruption with builders in your house you don't want to redo anything. But please give it some consideration- reduced depth cabinets in front of the chimney breast make alot of sense but their height has an impact on working around the range I also feel a tall unit here dissects the part of the room with lower units and isolates the range. Keep the units at base level but perhaps the units stacked on top should be removed and in their place mount the TV on the wall or instead have open shelves or a feature such as a clock.
As far as pendants go - a friend bought inexpensive lights and painted them to match other elements of their decoration which is a cost effective solution
