Comments (8)Hi Joanne. Have a look at Little Greenes warm whites. Some of their colours come in different tones. I would start by looking at either clay pale, with clay mid for the island or slaked lime with slaked lime mid for the island. Work tops I'd go for a white Quartz, a marble one may be nice. You could also look at wood for the island http://www.littlegreene.com/paint/colour/white-paint/warm-white-paint...See MorePavilion Grey or Purbeck Stone?
Comments (1)They’re both lovely aren’t they? Purbeck Stone looks warmer but I like the pureness of Pavilion Grey. Also depends on the light and aspect in the room. I found this image of Pavilion Grey and it looks lovely....See MoreBroken plan kitchen/diner and living room colour advice
Comments (2)Dear Fearn, I believe you are doing the right thing by opening up the dining room and living room. This will allow the double aspect to maximise on the natural daylight and give you more options to play with colour. I am a big fan of green and believe it has been very underestimated in the past, however it is coming back into fashion! Calke Green is beautiful, I believe it would work very well for a dining room, making it inviting and cosy. Do bear in mind though that colours come out darker once they are on the wall than originally anticipated. Before you make your final decision, I would try samples of the colour on each wall so you see the colour in different lights and throughout the day and evening. I would also try at least a couple of other colours such as Cooking Apple Green, Vert de Terre or Lichen. For the woodwork, it depends what effect you want to achieve, for instance if you want to close the room in to make it more cosy, I would paint it all the same colour, otherwise I find Wimborne White is always a winner and I use it a lot, it has a very warm creamy hue and is very versatile, it could be an alternative to Slipper Satin which could perhaps be a bit stark, however it is difficult to judge without being in the space. Good luck, Delphine...See Morekitchen paint wall colour advice Pls
Comments (14)If those kitchen units are sound it appears they suit the character of the building. It seems a shame to plan on ripping them out. If anything it is the colour of them that is wrong. I would find a tile that I loved and do all the splashback up to the wall cupboards including the cooker back and remove the little upstand from the worksurface too. Get the units professionally repainted to compliment the tiling. Dispense with the roller blind and maybe get a painted wooden venetian then get a large rug to make it all feel more cosy. A bit more than a paint job but a lot less disruptive than a whole new kitchen....See Moreqwerty556
