Kitchen colour advice needed!

Any advice on colour choices for kitchen? Renovating our Victorian house with open plan kitchen (U shaped with breakfast bar). Quite keen on light pale green or blue with a greyish hue but not sure if it goes with light grey walls (which will be something like Ammonite grey from F&B) and the light greyish smoked Oak herringbone wood flooring we chose. Husband is keen on whiteish but I'd prefer some colour in out otherwise monochrome setting! Any ideas? Pictures welcome. Thanks!! (PS. Worktop is white marble style quartz)

Not what you want to hear - but I agree with your husband ... my reason is this - currently your walls are grey - white goes with grey beautifully and you can accessorise with coloured bits and bobs - if you blend the kitchen to match the current wall colour - what happens when you change the wall colour ?
If the cabinets were white they'd go with grey walls, blush walls , navy walls, green etc etc etc ... so gives you much more options.

I love duck egg blue. Symphony kitchens do a lovely duck egg colour which is greener that most. Personally I'm a fan of colour. Sick of seeing white and grey to be honest

Hi, I have just finished repainting my kitchen myself. Overall I am happy with the new look, but I think the final verdict is only possible after some time (to see if the paint hardens enough). I have used Ammonite Farrow and Ball which is very warm grey colour. It looks nice in dark corners as well. Had to apply 4 coats of paint after 3 coats of FB primer. So be aware of the quantities. I must say that the process of repainting was not an easy ride. I spent overall three weeks (full time weekends and doing some smaller works in the evenings). Preparation is the hardest part (sanding, sanding and sanding), while painting is also a vey delicate process). If you are not afraid of hard work do it yourself! Otherwise, a professional is always a good option. Check traditionalpainter.com website they have a number of good instructions on repainting the cabinets.

Hi. I agree with Karen and Emanuelle, it looks good and would wait. Are all the colours matched? The Wimborne looks true to colour to me but hard to tell from a pic! Have the walls been painted already? If you don't like it once finished look at wevet (doesn't have a cream undertone) or cornforth White ( look at kitchen images combined with raisins/downpipe) rather than ŵalls or purbeck stone. This is purbeck with railings or will be when I can post a pic!

Hiya, We are just in the process of completely renovating our downstairs and have gone for pale grey walls (F&B Ammonite) and navy / Inky blue Shaker units (Como from Zoffany) with a white marble look Quartz (Bianco Carrera from Unistone) After a huge amount of indecision, more samples than we knew what do with and a lot of help from our designer, we nervously selected some Seasoned Limestone tiles, which we are using with a wet underfloor heating system. The kitchen isn't finished yet but you can see some pictures of the flooring which has just been laid- the pictures really don't do it justice! It's definitely my favourite bit of the renovation so far, they are great big tiles at random sizes between 60 x 60cm and 60 x 90cm and they really make the room. Whatever flooring you pick I highly recommend you pay lots of attention to the texture; we found a lot of colours looked quite similar but it was the quality of the finish, thickness of the tile, the texture and finish of the edges that made a huge difference to how the stones looked and the quality of the overall feel. Hi. I must admit I'd choose the cabinet colour first and then walls, walls are a fraction of the cost to change. Which way does the kitchen face? I quite like skylight teamed with an inky blue (if that would work not knowing the layout)

Why stick to plain white (although I agree that it's easier to change the wall colour than the cabinet doors)? If you have a sparkle in your worktops, why not continue with a sparkle in your cabinets? Will still work with your grey walls (and any future colours you might paint them) - will be different and will allow you to add "pops of colour" (how repetitive are design magazines) of any hue you choose!
