Comments (9)Hi, i really like your new plan! Much better with the light and space, the only thing i'm not sure about is your half height wall. I don't agree that you need to break up the space, and it may look a little odd. Just a couple of things to consider:- 1. The measurements I presume are external and therefore, the measurement inside will be smaller, so check with the builder the internal measurements. 2. It is unlikely that you'll be able to have a double sink in the bathroom, your plan has the toilet against the wall and no gap to the left of it. You need roughly 1 metre for a gap either side of the toilet, and the toilet in the middle of that gap. That leaves you with 845mm for a basin, and that's not taking into consideraton the loss of length due to the measurements being external. 3. There is no indication of any structural support for the roof , which you need to check with a structural engineer, what you need and can have. You have taken down two parts of external wall and the roof needs to be supported, normally on a 'return' of wall. 4. Regards the 'Half Wall idea' and the placement of the right hand wardrobe as you look from the bed, you will see part of the wardrobe over the height of the dwarf wall, which will look odd, so I suggest that that portion of the wall ( wardrobe depth ) is actually full height to cover the view of the end of the wardrobe and break up the space as you said you would like. Also mirror this depth and height the other side to match, and, this will enable the support that you need across the ceiling to support the roof. 5. Same principal applies for the roof support on the bathroom area as point 4 Here are a few illustrations to help you visualise. You will see in the first one, that i put in your half wall, and you see the side of the wardrobe. This one is with a small return wall, same depth as wardrobe but full height. This is the whole layout with returns on brickwork where you may need to keep them. I don't think you will need an extra return bythe area at the end where the en-suite was, but is now wardrobes, but you had better check with a structural engineer! Good luck !!! and, keep us all posted...See MoreMaster bedroom redesign
Comments (4)Thank you both for replying. Yes that wall at the bottom can't really be moved as it contains the soil pipe for the toilets. The main bathroom doesn't need changing, the cupboard from the hall is the airing cupboard so that can't be moved either. But I do think maybe we make it a wet room with a nice walk shower without the bath. Not sure about walking straight into dressing room - we'd have to keep it exceptionally tidy or it would annoy me......See MoreBedroom - complete redesign - looking for ideas

Comments (2)Hi Henry, Some photos would be great when you get some time to help really visualise the space. If you would like a concept design putting together for your room I can do this for you for £150. Here is an example of a bedroom design I put together earlier this year. www.myclaybrickhome.com/post/master-bedroom-concept-design-3 My design work can be completed remotely following a free intitial phone consulation with yourself and your girlfriend to understand how you both want to use and more importantly feel in the space. We can utilise your existing furniture in a scaled plan to see how it can be moved within the space, and maybe even repurposed. Feel free to get in touch by replying to this message, or dropping me an email at vicky@myclaybrickhome.com Rgds Vicky...See MoreLaura Bullas
