If you could build a house from scratch, what would you build?
Comments (25)I'd personally go for the modern home with a partial view of the woods! Floor to ceiling windows and geometric architecture. Of course, in this dream world, the house would be located where it could receive daily unobstructed sunlight and the it would be build with green technology. :)...See MoreMid-Century Japanese bungalow renovation in Kent
Comments (22)I think the interior of the rooms can be brightened/tweaked with lots of different approaches. Here a few examples: Photo one: bright, zen inspired furniture, lighter flooring(terazzo/carpet/wood). Organic colours.. Photo two: same thing, notice the bed fairly close the window. You could do that by having a pony wall/installation behind the bed as in photo three. Obviously not in wood, since your ceiling has enough of it present. Photo four: if you keep the wooden ceiling you can create interest and break up the stripe monotony with an interesting/large fixture....See More4 year old (big girl) bedroom
Comments (7)Hi. Maybe either go a chalk pink or duck egg on the walls to add some colour. Or alternatively add the colour in the curtains, accessories and bedding. I've attached this chair from alison at home which is on clearance at the moment (found it for another post and think it will suit your room!). Images are from argos and buckeye state. I think bunting can look really good in a girls room and a way to add colour. Or if you went with the 2nd option, maybe add some framed butterfly art on the walls. Having a couple of teddies or strategically placed wooden blocks can keep the room young and look really good. By the way the pinks in these pics are pretty pink but I'd go very pastel or chalk personally and just add splashes of it....See MoreRefurbish 30 year old detached home in Bromley, Kent

They should really be keeping them topped and thinned out for their health and safety. If they do this it will improve the light. It is possible they don't do any of these things because of budgetary constraints but a regular phone call requesting tree maintenance can't hurt....See MoreAsh Shukla
