Colour change for a bedframe?

I have a black metal bedframe. It fits the room and I can't afford another BUT I find the black intrusive. I'd like it to be cream or white or ... not black! Any ideas how to change it?

You could always paint, spray paint (for metal) would be a good option. If you take it apart and lay the parts outside you could paint this within a day. :)

Or you could get creative with fairy lights, cushions and bedding to take the emphasis off the bed frame. Where there's a will, there's a way ... :)

A couple of years ago this would have screamed 'demolish ' to me but perhaps because of the amount of USA design shows I watch (not bragging 🤦‍♀️! ) these are becoming increasingly sought after again. I'm with E D on the mid century vibe working well as the bar stools show. My concern would be because it hasn't been installed well but, if its safe, it could be pointed up. Hope you don't mind me saying that the ceiling would be what I'd be looking to change before considering the fire and bar areas . Good luck with what you decide and a few more inspo photos for you.

The only way you can be sure of which colour will work with your cabinets, is to see the actual tiles in the space. So if you can, get samples out and lay them on your floor against the cabinets. If you have to choose between those two, I'd go for the dark one, but that is just because I think that light grey is such a cold colour and it's hard to say if it works with your cabinet colour. The dark tiles will make the space darker though. If you can go for another option, I think Jules' idea of going for a wood look tile is better.

It’s the edge of the carcase you can see. Most carcases are edged with a 2mm edging which is put on by machine. Some older ones have iron on edging applied. If you want to replace it then it’s a fiddly job. The way to get it off is to heat it up so hold an iron with no steam setting and peel it off. Then you have to apply the new one which can be iron on and file off the edges. The machine edged edging at 2mm would have to be done on the machine and it’s done when it is in pieces not fully assembled.

Thanks for replies, didn't get any notifications so just reading them now. Think the horrible old doors definitely aren't helping just now so good other people think that could be skewing my view of the paintwork. We are waiting for our joiner to have the time to come out and put new doors/skirtings/facing in. That's another decision I'm trying to make - either all white doors and woodwork or white doors and woodwork same colour as walls to increase feeling of ceiling height, or oak doors similar colour to floor with white woodwork or the black modern doors that are in just now? Too much choice 🤯 Good to know people think it will tie together OK once better doors etc in though. I see now from a couple of pics what people were saying earlier about a blue/grey on the wall. The blue/grey in some of the pics is actually F and B All White in dining area but with the lights off. It does actually look pretty good against the sofa. The previous owners had the arch wall in the living painted as a feature wall but because the room is long and narrowish I though that it just emphasised this but maybe I would be better to put a darker colour on the arch wall and radiator wall to lift the couch and balance the room? Although we still have half the house to do so sure my partner would rather we worked with the room as it is! Thanks for reading my ramblings if you've got this far 😆
