Hi, I've now had quartz worktops fitted in a white with grey and mirror flecks (compact lactea) & attach photos. Cabinets are all done too. My next area is what to do for splashback behind the hob/under the extractor. I originally wanted to do red glass across the length of the wall, but we have had under unit lights fitted below the higher cabinets and at night I can change these to any colour I want. If I do red all across I won't get the effect of the lights. Not even sure red would go? The wooden chairs are going and will be replaced & I still need to choose my island lights (thinking 3 pendants hanging). Husband thinks stainless steel sheet behind hob. I'm not sure this will look right with dark glass hob under it & wonder if it is hard to look clean all the time. What ideas do you all have as you helped with the worktops. I also show the dining table and the new open lounge area (intend to put a rug down). We also still need to find wall lights.

Whilst I recognise there's a few tradespeople on here bemoaning fussy clients I have to say my biggest regrets when renovating my house was not being specific enough with trades! We had an electrician put in an extra light switch in the hall to control both the downstairs and upstairs lighting. He put it in a good 10-15cm lower than the other switch further along the same wall which looked completely ridiculous. Made him move it in line with the other one much to his annoyance. Another similar incident was with a vertical column rad for the kitchen - whilst I was specific enough this time to ask it be centered to the wall it was on, he installed it much higher than needed with about 30cm of pipe sticking out the bottom! It would have looked much better in line with the doorframe adjacent. Had to learn to live with that one. We had engineered wood floors put in upstairs - the fitter used the shortest wall in the smallest room to take a plumbline from. When it came into the hall it was obviously on a complete wonk. By this point I'd gotten a bit better at speaking up and ensuring we actually got what was needed (and paid for!). He had to take it up and re-lay using the hall as the plumbline. Looked so much better but he was extremely annoyed! After all this I learned to use masking tape to direct exactly where pipes/light switches/trim should be fitted so there was no room for 'interpretation'. I also forced myself to speak up more and advocate for what I really wanted. That said I'm a designer by trade so I generally know what I want and how to make it look good but was definitely a bit too shy to contradict trades in the beginning!

The tile for the wall with the effect is called Himalaya grey, I also have a Himalaya anthracite which is a bit darker. The tiles for the floor which you said looks like has a blue tone is called 'bran grey', I also have a darker grey tile in the same series. I will attach pics again, please advise on which combinations will work. himalaya grey with the darker grey option for floor. Himalaya anthracite - darker version of above 4 choices for the floor, the bottom left being bran grey (which you think is blue tone, does it still look blue to you in this pic?) and the bottom right is the darker grey. Hi Sunny, I'm guessing the layout is like this then? Which is why you wanted a 900mm wide shower. I'd actually go with the 900 x 1200 as it's longer and will suit the room better, plus, if the layout is like this, then you have the room for it. Here's a link to all those in that size from Victorian Plumbing, so depends what your style is. Victorian Plumbing. They sell loads, so i'm sure you'll be able to find one that will suit. One thing to watch out for is the size of the basin and toilet. You will be better off with a short projection toilet and don't come out too far with the basin either as the space to exit out of the bath will be lessened. Regards to flooring, tiles etc, that's personal choice. What style do you like, what colours do you like, and most importantly what is your budget for the project?
