Paint colour in dining room which leads from the kitchen

I have just had a new kitchen fitted and am thrilled with it and the colours , I have painted the sun room part of the kitchen in a coordinated green/blue colour but now am unsure what do do with the dining room area which is a separate room but open .
Should I go for it and paint all the walls in that area in the green/blue
Paint it in Egyptian cotton as a neutral or does the yellow look ok

I love the colour you have painted the sun room wall. My advice is always to be brave and bold! I would continue this colour into the dining room as this will create continuity. Your light coloured furniture in the dining room will also look great against this colour - it's a bit lost right now against the yellow walls. Go for it :)

I like that color also. I would definately use in in the dining room in place of the yellow. But I would leave the white accent walls between the two rooms white, at least for a while to see if you like that. I think it's a nice contrast, but then I have always been a sucker for any version of blue & white!.

I used the pale version of slaked lime (which makes a great substitute for white in a bright room) but the darker one may suit better. Also, it looks beautiful with wood flooring. Portland stone also is lovely but with a more olivey tone.

I would consider what time of day you use it and clarify if you want to lighten it or make it warm. 'Cool' colours such as greens, violets and blues look cold if they are pale so avoid these if you want a cosy feel unless you use dark versions. Warmer colours are recommended for North facing rooms, but it is really down to the other components in the room. No use choosing a warm grey unless it works with the new carpet. The carpet will cost more than the paint so I would select both together.

Karen, thank you. I liked Mole’s breath and will put it on a samples board. But I think I might also try and squeeze in my blue wall, or at least see how Oval room blue (suggested on F&B website) work on the opposite wall. I already have a sample. Sonia might be pleased that at least someone might be using Oval room blue after all. 😁

It depends on what sort of 'feel' you like. I like quite neutral spaces with lots of texture so stoney colours, natural leather feels very relaxed to me. Little Greene have some new colour cards out with 'Stone' colours on, all sorted in warms to cools, it may be worth ordering one. They do light and dark versions of each colour so you could select specific ones for each room. They also specify 'accent' colours for the odd wall so all round a good choice.
