Black worktop for kitchen
Comments (15)I have black granite work tops - they are fab - I use a granite cleaner on them - just literally as you would clean any surface - a rub over.... The make is 'Method' - available from most supermarkets. HOWEVER, if I was choosing again, I would have gone for something less 'safe'!! I chose a granite that was very uniform and wished I had perhaps gone for one with a little more interest in the pattern - if you know what I mean! It is a natural product and wish I had gone for something with swirls or a dramatic line through it..... As I say, was playing safe at the time as it was part of a large extension and had far too many decisions to make!! Think I am right in saying that darker granites are generally more hard wearing than lighter ones - but don't quote me on that!...See MoreBrightening up a kitchen with pine units and black worktops
Comments (14)Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area, I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... Please check out my website if you like the idea and please get in contact, commission work is also welcomed so if you like a particular style I can do in a select colour palette and size as an original piece…..I’m also able to produce all original paintings in high end print format, in any size same or smaller than the original. (all within proportions to the original so not to cause distortion) All prints shown are Giclee prints onto soft textured fine art media. All prints come with a white border these can be made to measure too. So lots of options, www.guigsart.co.uk...See MoreWhat colour island with cream kitchen and black worktops?
Comments (10)Putting white or light grey on a kitchen floor is asking for martyrdom - fine if you're what Freud called a housewife psychotic; but if mopping your floor three times a day isn't your thing, go for a darker floor and get your reflected light from the vertical surfaces of the island. I would also be wary of white next to cream - call me old-fashioned, but it's one of the few combinations that simply jars. Have you considered having a bold and bright colour for the island as a counterpoint to all that tastefully restrained grey, black and cream?...See MoreCan I restore the shine on black granite worktops?
Comments (0)We had new black granite worktops installed just a couple of months ago. From day 1 I have really struggled to keep them looking clean. Already there are areas that have lost their shine and have seemingly permanent finger prints. I'm wondering if the combination of hard water and the wrong kind of surface cleaner is the problem? Any tips on whether I can restore the granite would be very much appreciated....See More- 7 years ago
