Could I do this?

I have a regular one piece bathtub/shower surround. I want to use the glass, I think it will update it without having to rip out the entire tub surround. Is there any way that I can cover the front apron with marble and cover the tub as well so it looks like the picture?

This certainly sounds like something we could help with - we would be able to supply and install the marble for you, however you would need a contractor/builder to carry out the works for the glass, plumbing and any other 'building' work required.

It looks like a fairly large, light space so I would definitely go for the darker, bolder choice. I also agree with the majority that keeping the arch, but enlarging and squaring it off, might be better and leave you with more flexible spaces (it will also save you money!) If you get rid of the fireplace (which is pretty unispiring) I would make sure you still have some kind of feature there to add impact - console tables with mirrors over them work quite well. The beauty of the darker grey is that you can accessorise with pretty much any colour and it will look cool.

Hi Martin, It depends on the soil type what variety of trees are best to plant. Was it a field before the house was been built? If it was its bound to be full of couch which takes time to get rid off. You might have to put up with a brown landscape until the summer as you will need to kept it sprayed the grass and weeds regrowth. Don't get into a hurry because you are moving in. Its best to do things slowly and with thought to what you want for a garden. Because it looks a large site according to the sketched plan you gave with the photos you need to divide the garden into separate areas to make it interesting and also with hedges or trees give privacy to your property. Last landscaping large gardens isn't cheap and sometimes the money isn't spent on the garden but in the house resulting a garden without much in it except lawn and no design. Garden designer or landscaper with design flare are best at creating your garden.

Hi! FIrstly - i LOVE the colour of that chimney breast wall!! I think you could be right on looking for an accent chair under there, or potentially a leaning thin mirror? With an antique brass sort of framing to it, to tie in a couple of the accessories I can see in the room already! A mirror would also reflect the colour of the bedding/statement wall, so help to carry the colour over to that side of the room as well! Then my suggestion would be to look under more 'dining' style accent chairs (Made.com do some bright velvet styles with arms etc) that could tuck into your dressing table area! I run an interior design service, and we can work remotely, and do packages for little projects like this, where there is just a small change around and a few new pieces of furniture and accessories, but we would be able to source the items for you, and also draw up a 3d image of how this could look for you, before you make any purchases/decisions! My parents had the same wall on thier stairs. We always thought it was structural as it was made from concrete blocks. One summer we decided to take out just the upstairs section and replace with a banister, but after starting the work realised it was not structural at all just really over engineered (typical 1950s!). It wasn't supporting the floor upstairs or even the stairs themselves. Anyway we took the whole thing out and replaced with handrail and square spindles. Completely changed the feel of using the stairs and the hallway downstairs. Also the same wall carried on into the kitchen to form a pantry which we also removed. That really opened up the kitchen too.
