Hallway furnishings dilemma

I have a rectangle space in my soon to be decorated hallway and I have no idea how to best utilise it. A coffee table sits there now but mostly gets used to dump stuff on. The space is 26" x 55", with a low window sill.
We have a large cupboard just off the hall so storage isn't an issue. I was thinking maybe a cool chair and little table/shelves.

I'm really stuck for ideas!

Personally I would have a blanket box or ottoman or low drawers to hide shoes and to sit on to fasten laces and a couple of wall mounted hooks to display appropriately

The table currently is a bit swomped by the curtains as well I think. I would consider a blind. A console thinner table would work or a nice small french/cocktail chair & maybe a standard lamp or a small table. Have a small basket on the table for dropping keys etc in !

I like the centre table idea, like ED's inspiration pic. I'd go for a pedestal base. Haven't you got the impressive feature fireplace. Would you consider matching a tabletop to that to tie in with the other room. Don't know if it would be too costly but worth costing it if you like the idea? Your floral display would look great centred on it in the hallway. I'd also go for a radiator cover rather than chair which, in my house, would become a dumping ground!

hi Sam, the look you are trying to achieve can be done with leaving the paper in place, although it is always good to remove old layers of paper etc when embarking on a major piece of work. The system you are planning will be carried out by a joinery company who will make the panelling. I think it is a good look and ultimately you need to have what you like. Anaglypta is nice but the pattern you have is not the best example I've seen. my tip is to have it made in wood not mdf. Best Rowland

Next to the door there's a radiator (on the left) On the opposite wall there is patio door around 225cm and a window 180cm with radiator underneath.

An ottoman sprang to my mind too as it would work well with the low window behind it and serves as extra storage! It just might look as exciting as a cool chair. I'm being real indecisive but these ideas are helping! Thank you.

Ottoman is a great idea - good for storing shoes or outdoor stuff but also the right height to sit on to put the shoes on! Ideally something hard wearing. Not sure how much space you have from the photos but we have plenty of options - here's just one:
