Wardrobe dilemma
Comments (3)Yes - put full height wardrobes to run up to where he's holding the board - then return into alcove area with more 2/3 tall storage, so the FRONT of that retuned part is in line with that panel too( not infront of it ) - will take you to just under the Velux - and Echo the same look of 2/3 high on the opposite side too ( even though it looks like its wall ) with matching doors ( maybe middle doors on each side could be mirror ) it will make it feel bigger ... Add shoe storage shelving on the end return, allowing access hatch to be accessed by having that area as a taller boot storage part or as a taller mirror that opens as a door ( if there's room ) so giving you three mirrors to bounce the light about a bit ... Re the bit in the right of arch - if at all possible box in those appliance behind wardrobes same depth as other side . Hope that helps !...See Morealcove help on a long wall
Comments (58)The access door would have to be moved forward a bit and be made narrower to accommodate it. I was discussing it with the husband tonight as we could potentially cut another door from the other side (ie what wil be the 2nd bedroom) and hide that in a wardrobe as secret storage area. The opening would have to be narrow but still wide enough to walk theough but you wouldnt see it from the bedroom then. Got to get a price though as its brick on the other side and it would need a lintel. Nothing is ever straight forward. Comments (8)My alcoves are uneven but I’ve never considered it a problem, so try not to worry. 😊 I personally would choose the expensive items first such as your seating and furniture then decorate around them with wall colour, rug, cushions etc. Wall colour can easily be changed but a sofa that doesn’t quite “go” can be a bit of a trial. As your room is north facing I think a softer colour on the walls would be nice. Either a sage green like Mizzle or a dusky pink like Calamine, both by Farrow & Ball. If you want to stay with the teal, Oval Room Blue is a softer version and not too dark. Below is Mizzle, Calamine and Oval Room Blue....See MoreUneven alcoves
Comments (1)I wouldn't put in two matching mirrors, it will just draw attention to the differences in width. I would put something 'portrait' in the wider one to elongate it, and something wider in the narrower one....See MoreJ C
