Hi Richard, thanks for your question. The clients sourced this themselves, I think it may be from online retailer www.whitestores.co.uk. It's a grey colour so could be their Zebrano Rattan range. Hope this is helpful.

I was going to suggest locating the tv to the bar area until I read your comment - then I read about cable trunking! So... I'm sticking to the suggestion of locating the tv under the stairs. That would truly free up the room so that you could keep it fairly open for now with just a sofa and maybe a couple of huge bean bags for the kids but could add further seating as the kids get older. You have a gorgeous light filled room there, so I would use an L shape right hand sofa. That way the patio doors are kept free for the light to flood in and for you to open in the sumer to create a flowing indoor/outdoor space. I would also keep the style of the sofa as slimline as possible in order for the space to feel larger and use modern glass side tables for the room to feel spacious and uncluttered keeping the feeling of lightness. I've attached a couple of links to Dwell which have some sofas I think would look great in your space. The space under the sofa could be used for storage or kept vacant to further create the illusion of spaciousness in the room. Thanks. I can't see the colour of the curtains but If you are willing to lose the cushions, a pale blue would work with both the tan and gold. The colours at the moment are quite warm so it would nice to add a cool colour to give it some contrast. Given the style of the room I would add an upholstered footstool/coffee table in the blue and cushions etc. As the back window is off centre I am struggling with how 2 tall bookcases would look. A tall bookcase on the left may work with a cabinet/sideboard on the right with lamps etc to give height. I totally get what you've said re the tv but maybe one idea is to get a cabinet that encloses it. I'd move the tv to where the sofa is on the right and move that sofa opposite the other one and place the armchair next to the fire (assuming there is room with photo angles!). If you're going for a dark oak floor I'd go for light oak furniture or even something painted to offset against the floor. It's a lovely room already though so feel free to ignore as I just have a thing about tv's!

It's a tough one, leather may be a safer option. What do you think of this rug with it, might also go nicely with the first rust stool I posted (the stool also comes with black legs)? West elm have a sale on ATM, think it's 20% off if you spend £500 and 30% off > £1000 so might be worth a look, not sure when the sale ends as it's been on a few days

Hi Suzanne, The stairs i had in the drawing were my version of what i thought it would look like before we got formal drawings from the architect (bit of cut and paste of existing plans). I do have an updated version he did i'll post here. However on this plan the bay at the back of the kitchen is too narrow and we haven't got the side windows shown in the kitchen etc. The stairs i had shown have a half landing. Our current stairs have 2 quarter landings. The stairs only go up 1 floor - 15 steps (15th being the landing level). We are also constrained by some eaves so the steps can't come up directly onto the landing by the wall due to head height issues - i have shown this with a red line. Happy to consider any stair variants you mentioned. I will take a look at stairbox.com thank you. The hall is approx 7.5m by 3.5m if you include the utility/coat cupboard area in the overall space.
