Hi Laurenandjames. I love your kitchen / diner. I am in the process of having an extension and I have Howdens Tewkesbury Stone kitchen and Ice White Quartz worktops ready to be fitted. Is the wallpaper from B&Q? Also what colour paint did you go for on the rest of the walls? I was a bit worried about the stone colour as in some lights it looks brown and not the grey I was after. Porcelain is a tough tile which will not crack or break easily. they are very long lasting. vinyl is out dated and just doesn't look good. Your other option should be ceramic tiles. So it should be between ceramic and porcelain. I'd still recommend porcelain but ceramic is cheaper, that's the biggest advantage of ceramic. I bought these porcelain tiles two weeks ago, they look lovely. beautiful hexagon porcelain tiles

Hi Cake lady thanks for your comment. I have considered the wood effect tiles. However the kitchen adjoins a hall which has an oak laminate floor. I'm concerned the two different types of wood will clash. what do you think? Good to know they're low maintenance. I'm steering well away from gloss tiles as spent years trying to keep black gloss tiles clean in our bathroom. Finally replaced last year !
