What do you think of this?
Comments (25)Dear Devon kitchen co - you seem unsure yourselves of the design... My first thoughts are with the layout, the position of tall and upper units; it looks like you would walk into the room and feel that these are on top of you, especially the wall unit next to the chimney breast and then the tall units straight ahead of you; the balance just feels wrong. I would always try to place tall units in a way that makes them recede. Open shelving and glass cabinets always help. Difficult when you are working with a smaller space and the brief is demanding, you are also working with two corner solutions and had to create a U shaped kitchen to get everything in. If those tall units opposite the entrance are fridge and freezer, I would play with placing them down the far end of the kitchen and fill that in completely either side with other storage units maybe down onto the worktop, so that they create a wall of units, this would mean you would have a galley either side for surfaces, sink and hob etc, alternatively I would debate the use of under-counter appliances, fridge drawers maybe. Again difficult if your client needs greater capacity and has no-where else for secondary appliances such as a utility room. Very difficult to comment really unless you are in front of the plan and know the client brief. Hope it goes well - Laurane...See MoreWhat do you think of this new bathroom layout?
Comments (58)You made me laugh out loud there rinq! Yeah...that one's been ruled out already :-) Here's a pic as it is at the mo: We did half an update around 10 years ago - new bath/screen/sink/taps/cupboard doors/floor - but our budget didn't stretch to retiling. The main drivers today are: to get a toilet in here new tiles (wall & floor and U/F heating) TBH, I want it to look more modern and I want a toilet. If we have to do without the separate shower, so be it....See MoreDoubts about kitchen design - what do you think?
Comments (9)It kind of looks unfinished without the wall units IMO so I would keep them. Personally with a modern kitchen I’m not keen on extractors behind doors but that might just be the design and you’re having a chimney as on the amended plan. The only thing I would say is having had a boiling water tap fitted a couple of months ago in my kitchen you only get to use half of the cupboard space underneath because of the filter and tank so don’t expect to store a huge amount in this unit. I’ve had to offload half of mine into another cupboard. Thankfully I had the space....See MoreBathroom layout - what do you think?
Comments (8)Many thanks for the comments and suggestions. Regarding the toilet, we really don't need one as we have one separate in the room next door. It is also more convenient with the kids as one can be in the bathroom while the other uses the toilet. Having had more play with the designer tool, I came up with 2 others options. Note, that we only have 85cm each side of the window so if the shower is towards the external wall, it is limited to 800. v3 - in this one, the shower is 800x1000. Could potentially have built-in storage at the foot of the bath. My main concern is that the shower is quite small and it creates a corridor effect between the door and the shower. v4 - in this one, shower is still narrower but must longer at 800x1200 and bathtub is 1700. I also was able to put some cabinets for storage/towels - but not sure if it is very accessible (does it need to be?) It feels a bit busy and I would have love to give the kids a bigger shower (as they are growing) but not possible with the window location. We are thinking that version 4 is probably the best option at the moment. any suggestions? Many thanks...See MoreCult Furniture
