Comments (8)You have a great room! I personally wouldn't stain the floor darker - it looks lovely as it is. I would though go to a local glazier and cost to have a mirror wall behind the bed. I would then match two bedside cabinets (closed so bit and bobs can't be seen,) I'd change the light fitting for something more suitable for a bedroom - at the moment it reminds me of what would be in a kitchen or a teenagers bedroom - a trendy light fitting from Habitat or even B&Q would look awesome (or even just a white plastic flex with a trendy shade.) As for the ceiling fan maybe replace it with something more modern. Here are some ideas https://www.allmodern.com. If you like light grey it would work well for the walls and you can add colour through the bedspread & cushions. I would also remove your belongings from around the room and store them in a narrow cabinet/wardrobe behind the bedroom door. And as you have a super cute dog I would look for a pug cushion or lamp as a tongue in cheek homage. See this link for pug cushions: https://www.etsy.com/uk/search?q=pug+cushion&locationQuery=2635167 If you don't fancy a mirror wall maybe have a huge bright yellow frame against a grey wall and a photo of your pug inside and maybe a union jack cushion....See MoreHelp needed: Boring Bedroom
Comments (17)Hi The room is very angular a rectangle room with clean cut lines and clean plain flat tones. I look at this room and keep thinking beach . It looks a very calm room so gives me the impression of somewhere to retreat to after a day at the beach. Obviously that would not be the case but how exciting to bring the beach to this room. A nice relaxing view of the beach a total paradise room. If a big mural is too much then you could use the idea almost like a watercolour wash that flows past the windows ( not painting the windows) or use the colour theme blues and yellows with a stylistic curve line or simply find a piece of artwork in these colours and place between the windows. I would also consider adding a couple of accessories in these colours maybe cushions and even a swag voile which goes over both the 2 windows with the capacity to dip in between the 2. You could even have a radiator cover or shelf where you could place a nice vase and inject some colour with a large statement bouquet of flowers. If you want to keep the room more subtle ( without a splash of colour then i would echo the colour and texture of the bed throw you could find a nice wallpaper like a damask styling or something with a metallic tone and cut out something or collage several pieces frame it to make your own unique wall art. These are some ways I can see the room developing I hope I've given some inspiration to you I hope you find the right solution for yourself good luck and look forward to seeing pictures of the finished room. Enjoy Regards Marie....See MoreBoring toddler bedroom
Comments (34)I have just decorated by daughter's bedroom, I used a light apple colour for the walls so it feels fresh. Also, instead of buying in art work, use your sons own 'art work' and frame them. Make a cluster of framed paintings/drawings. I also got my daughter to paint her feet and hands to make her own artwork (most kids love painting that way!) We used the same size white frames (about 8 in total) from B&Q (£7 each for A4 size). My daughter loves the fact that her own work is on the wall. Shannon...See MoreBoring bedroom
Comments (5)Taking inspiration from your beautiful bed and door, I would go for a warm grey like skimming stone. I would definitely replace the wardrobe and tall chest of drawers, and declutter as much as possible. I'd accessorise with a chunky knit throw like in the picture. It's a small room with a challenging layout! Would it be possible to have the bed on the radiator wall and move the radiator?? You could then possibly have a fitted wardrobe built into each alcove. You could have wall lights and some shelves instead of a bedside table then...See MoreTani H-S
