my blank wall of 8 years!
I have not found a solution for this wall.. it divides the house into private and public areas (whats behind is private) so I want a creative, nice space as you enter the house.. curios, plants, seating..

Comments (4)Hi. I'm not sure if the sofa is going to be best sat opposite the fire as the sofa width is wider than the alcove? I'd put a console behind the sofa to dress with lamps etc. if you have the tv in the larger alcove have you thought about using a console table? Either one with a large single drawer for the sky box (will need a magic eye or whatever they're called plus a hole in the back for leads!) or one with a shelf at the bottom. They seem quite difficult to find in the right size but have found one below. Perhaps a chair facing the sofa kind of angled semi in the alcove with a floor lamp behind . Re oriental feel, oka have quite a few oriental inspired accessories etc so maybe a lamp and a piece of blue and white china. They also do faux hydrangea which would suit your look and some lovely cushions! You could also consider a darker wallpaper in the alcoves similar to pic that will follow just as an idea to add pattern. A French grey would be lovely, just check the undertones with your sofa. Comments (4)I might be wrong but I've used Jali once a few years ago and mine was mdf as i recall it was a nightmare to paint! I also thought mdf was more stable than wood? TBH your quote sounds really good, as long as it's constructed properly I can't see it being an issue, I'd speak to your carpenter about any concerns. can you not build a stud frame for the chimney breast and use dry lining instead of mdf (although someone told me a while ago you'd never know it was mdf, whether that's true I don't know!)...See Moreleave the wall blank or not?

6 years agolast modified: 6 years agoThe front wall with full covered mirror and to adjacent side(door side) wall have some mural or mantra written such a way a person can read the mantra to the mirror and have it to colour gold and maroon to as your seating and have a good lighting focused to the adjacent wall where the mantra is scribbled .
Refer :mirror image reflection for a wall.

6 years agoI'd suggest collecting blue pottery /Athangudi tiles and tiling the whole wall / alternating some of them with the blank wall
