Kitchen splash back / colour
Comments (7)I agree with Cathy on this. Glass splash backs without the wood upstands would look great. I've used a company called Decoglaze for these in the past. They are not the cheapest, but they do a fantastic job. If you choose a light colour for the splash back, you'll need optically clear low iron glass. Otherwise the green hue of the glass will change the colour. For dark colours, you can get away with normal glass. As the glass is going behind the hob, it will need to be toughened. I'm assuming from the photo that the job is electric not gas. Have you got under cabinet lighting? This will enhance the effect of the glass quite a bit....See MorePlease help to add colour and personality to my family kitchen!
Comments (21)Hi Yolanda - I'd change the stools, table and chairs, and swap the pendants for something in coloured glass or (personally) metallic, and change the cabinet handles from steel to brass/gold. Instant lift. Splashback-wise, try distressed mirror (suitably tempered and toughened) as it has loads of personality, bounces light around and is easy to clean. Then play with wall colour. Warm accents will stop the wood door from jarring so much (or paint it, if you can convince your husband). You have a lovely kitchen - will take very little to get it where you want!...See MoreKitchen Colour, should I use the feature colour on more thank one wall

Comments (15)Thanks all again for the comments. I`ve bought some herb pots for £20 and that adds some colour. . Something you dont see on houzz is the daily mess , so havent shown it all. caro7342: The kitchen is 4.5m long and the island is 1.9m. I really wouldnt want to go any less that that. I probably wish we`d added 20-30cms to the island as it can get a bit full at times but its adequate. The worktop we had a bread bin to start with and it took up too much room , so thats in a deep drawer now and helps. Again, i wouldnt want the main worktop to be any less, its 2.4m. hope that helps....See MoreCarolina
