How to age copper sheet?

I would love to do something like the attached picture for some cabinets we are putting in our dining room. I can get new copper sheet online but it's very shiny and I would like to look like the attached. How can I do this? And how easy would it be to attach copper to some flat cupboard doors?

Gloss over copper pipes - help!

Google "clean paint off copper pipe" you'll get lots of results, even youtube videos, etc. Best I found are: http://www.reddit.com/r/berlin/comments/1baqw2/stripping_paint_off_of_copper_pipes/ and a more general one: http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_7691660_remove-paint-pipes.html You should be aware of a few things though: as you can see in the photo you've attached, the copper has black burnt discolouration from soldering - I'm not sure how you can clean those. Also, as copper ages, it loses its shine; you need to clean/ polish it periodically if you want to keep the colour. If you want to paint over the gloss, just buy a really good primer (high opacity, preferably grey) apply it, then paint in your preferred colour. Good luck!...See MorePOLL: Do you iron your sheets?
Comments (50)Supervintagegirl- have you every seen or read about "Extreme Irining" as a sport? There are World Championships in it. Got a book on it as a fun wedding present for a cousin who has been known to ask you to take of some item of clothing that you are wearing as you stand in front of her so she can iron it for you!! I kid you not .... My SIL not far behind. Spent 4hrs - FOUR FULL HOURS - Irining her 20 something year olds shirts the other evening !!! It would take less time to train them to do their own. Comments (16)The space under the house doesn't look to be that accessible, so I would block it in as Johnathan suggests, just leave an access hatch for inspection and clad in stone to match the existing stone work. For the exterior I would continue the cladding using a composite like fibrous cement or UPVC with good insulation underneath and finish in a dark colour. Comments (7)forzaitalia- You should complain to the store that supplied the mattress - tell them that you want them to take up your case with the manufacturer and offer to email them pictures to support your case. Tell them that you want the manufacturer to refund the store the cost of the mattress so that you can purchase an alternate from them.
