Hague blue lounge, but running out of ideas, please help!
Comments (13)firstly I love the vibe of your room colour glorious and the chairs and tan sofa are fab. I would try and balance the sitting arrangement so centred around the fireplace. I would defo have a rug perhaps in golds citrus shades very decedent perhaps geometric pattern to go with the moody walls and pick up pieces like mirror and photo frames in gold and copper tones. I like the bay bare and let the light flood in or gorgeous sheer voiles. little milk stools are lovely touch so would keep them. Drinks trolley with beautiful cut glass decanters and glass bouncing light across the room. why stop there over sized crystal lamps and chandeliers with lovely shades. I would be careful with art work as my clash with strong colour on walls may not even need anything more. beautful coffee table in crystal with gilt frame adorned with lovely bits and pieces that reflect your life and personality. and perhaps a tall glass shelf unit with similar frame. old books throws. im getting carried away sorry but would love to have a go at this project have fun that's the most important thing I feel and only invest inpieces you totally love because then you will always love them and can always move them around to refresh or even style another room...See MoreI'd like...help with a long lounge please
Comments (9)Hi. If you paint the end ŵalls either a darker or warmer shade it will go some way to correcting the proportions of the room (Or if you like stripes you could add a striped rug or wallpaper). I must admit I would probably keep the chimney breast whether you change the fire or not, they add character and you can add consoles, cabinets, chairs etc which tend to look better in alcoves than flat ŵalls. I would also use a textured wallpaper in the long ŵall colour to add interest. I think the issue is the lack of furniture in the middle of the room which would make it feel wider. Could you add a coffee table? Is the sofa to scale in the 1st pic? I would pull it away from the ŵall even if it just inches (will help with radiator too, is that the only one you have in the room as it doesn't seem big enough?). I had a look in your Ideabook and it looks as if you want a windowseat? If so, i'd move the sofa so it's opposite the fire and put the armchair at the opposite end of the room and use a rug to define that seating area with the front feet of the seating on the rug. If you want the tv over the fire I'd put it on a tilting, swinging arm....See MoreLarge Lounge Dilemma- Help Please
Comments (8)Definitely like to see a plan of the whole space and where it is in relation to other rooms. Looks like the front door opens in to the lounge? It still very much feels like two rooms, and probably will do even with the arches squared off. To make it more open plan, the best solution would be to remove the middle pier and open up the room. Or, maybe you can have another shuffle around and change the first part of the room, so that the back part thorough the arches is the main lounge? Do you want to use both parts as a lounge, as it's not going to be easy with the extension having been built the way it is. Do you have a budget in mind for minor alterations or is it more a decorating type job?...See MoreLayout help for kitchen/lounge/diner. Please help
Comments (4)I think shortening the lounge is a great idea. Could the new kitchen door go through the cupboard in the hall next to the shower room? This would make the new wall nicely balanced with the window in the new dining room.
