Fitted or wall mounted bathroom furniture?
Comments (8)Hi. I agree that the space saving stuff is nasty. As well as being ubiquitous, it looks cheap (overly fussy cabinet doors made out of something plastic-y... I don't understand why someone hasn't designed something better). Anyway, wall hung units look sharper and it is really easy to clean the floors. Also, provided the door doesn't bash into that unit, you can fit just as much in two deep drawers than you can in three skinny cabinets. That said, assuming we are looking at the longer wall you have (196) then I would move the toilet over more toward the pillar (the pillar doesn't look deep enough to interrupt the actual bowl of the toilet) and get a 90cm vanity and sink in there, flush against the wall next to the door. I have a bathroom of almost the same width and I have a round mirror above the 90 cm vanity so it isn't shoved up against the wall and have a wall light either side of the mirror. There is plenty of room around the loo and there is ample storage (I have a freestanding cabinet that has little legs and two cupboard doors and a sink mounted on the top so that my tall partner can shave and brush his teeth without all the evidence going all around the bathroom)....See MoreStraw insulated walls and wall mounted taps
Comments (4)I am currently renovating a house and have hit many snags along the way. As my dad always tells me 'Anything is possible'. We had problems fitting the shower to the wall as there was nothing behind the plaster board and tiles for the screws to affix to (I imagine that's the same problem you will have with straw). So, we left it, went away and had a think, came back, tried a few thinks, till Ureka! All it took were a few specialist rawl plugs and screws. It took a few days to sort out, but we are just DIYers and were not in a particular rush. If you're paying someone to do it, it should be a doodle, as OnePlan says....See MoreVictorian style wall taps
Comments (7)Hello, it's just the tap style I like in that pic. I'm not going for a coastal theme!! I'm looking for a period range to include wall mounted taps, freestanding bath filler and exposed valve shower. I have had a good look on eBay but it's finding a brand/range that I like that includes all those things. I will have another delve around eBay tonight. I'm also going to Aston Matthews plumbers merchants next week with my fingers crossed...!...See MoreBrushed gold or brass finish taps
Comments (34)I agree with everything that's been said. I am looking for exactly the same sort of finish for a bathroom retrofit - going for a wet room. I did find this fabulous range in 'Champagne Bronze' finish: https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/collections/trinsic-bathroom-collection and- https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/T17T459-CZH2O BUT the (Canadian, I think) company do not deal with UK at all. The Yemen is on the list of countries where they have dealers, but not GB! I did email Delta Faucet but they never replied. You do see this range sometimes on eBay and Amazon. They are a bit pricey though and shipping costs are high, also my plumber cannot figure out if the range is compatible with our pipes/electrics/technicalities etcetc So, wake up UK plumbing companies!...See More- 6 years ago
