Storage Solutions for a Small Space

As much as we would love it, most of us don't have a huge triple garage to put all our clutter in. We have to make do with a small space in the garage, shed or basement that can serve as a storage area along with other uses.

But just because it is a small space, it doesn't mean that there aren't storage solutions out there. One of our best selling products is our FlexiTrack. This is a small strip of our full panel which can be cut to fit the space you have available and can take most of the Garageflex storage accessories such as shelves, cabinets, bike racks and hooks.

In this image below, a length of FlexiTrack has been cut down three times to fit the available space between a wall and a door. Then a small shelf has been added to give the owner plenty of additional storage space that otherwise might have been wasted. What's more is that a 2460mm length of FlexiTrack only costs £24!

Another option could be our DIY Storage Kits. These are full do it yourself kits that include a length of FlexiTrack and then various hooks, brackets, shelves or racks depending on which option you decide is right for you.

I do agree with all saying storage is paramount.. If you are purchasing furniture and items for your home, use the theory of how many people will be there.. Do you need six chairs when there is only normally the two of you... Improvise.. But we also hoard things that haven't been used in days or weeks. Sometimes months... My Mum had a a theory if it's not used within 6 months you don't need it... I have always tried to do the same.. A tidy home is a tidy mind. Makes your life so much easier.. Never be a slave to your home. Tidy as you go.. Use it move it.. Then you won't have to spend time cleaning and you can enjoy more of a life... Life is to short to spend time looking for things.. And after all.. If it has a place you will find it immediately... Simplest things that's it....

I specialise in designing and making Contemporary Bespoke Fitted Furniture using sustainable materials and paints for private clients in London. These are some of the examples of my recent commissions: This Display unit is made entirely of a pre finished melamine coated wood called Ceramic Antrhacite, it either looks rusty or like a stone, it is very striking and a talking point in itself. The design is very clean with a row of doors on the bottom acting like a plinth, behind a couple of the doors is a drinks cabinet with lights and mirrors that are a surprise every time you open the doors. The shelves have random squares that are light to feature key pieces of art or pictures. This wardrobe was designed for a customer we have know for years who wanted to create more space for their growing collection of clothes. The interior is made of walnut melamine which gives a nice contrast to the modern outside. And the random squares have been created to add interest with pieces of art. Have a look at our profile!

I cant see enough from your pic, what's the distance between the kitchen door and the reveal to the front door? is there enough space to build a series of shelves floor to an acceptable height, open ended and with a sweeping curve on the corner as you head from the front door into the kitchen? if enough space the shoes could be stacked on a separate shelf per pair maybe leave bottom ones with a bigger gap to allow for tall boots. I am looking at the area where the current matting goes around the boxing in part as you come in the door Hope this helps.
