Living Room Coffee Table

I have a dark brown leather couch and love seat with glass and pewter end tables on both sides of the couch. Across from couch I have a black rectangle TV stand. What style of coffee table should I get round or rectangle? White stone top or glass?

Hi Lisa, most tables get cluttered with just everyday stuff so having drawers is a good way of keeping everything tidy and items you don't want the children to just pick up. This table below has two drawers at the top and one big one at the bottom but made to look like two. Good for just throwing toys into, depending on how deep you want to make it you can have drawers on both sides. Also this one has rounded corners on the top and legs so relatively safe. Having something like this made is very expensive but another way of doing it is to buy online and get someone to adapt it by adding drawers and rounding off corners. Preferably with a simple finish to it too, if someone is going to dapt it then they don't want to spend more time trying to match a finish. Hope that helps.

I think it looks stark because there is currently so much contrast between the very light walls and the very dark sofa, although this may be exaggerated on the pictures. A quick fix could be to paint a mid shade in the mirror wall. ( also if you hang the mirror portrait you help the room feel higher). Personally I think that for a room to be complete you need colour, pattern and texture which you should bear in mind when buying accessories. The only thing others haven't mentioned is house plants. A large palm or cheese plant will look great

I'm not sure about the Ikea one due to the black frame although I have seen this sprayed in a gold/brass finish which looked good. The middle one is my favourite. As the sideboard and chest are boxy a couple of round tables would also look good, there are loads around including the "interlocking" ones.
