Electrical wall switches - help
Comments (12)I had a bit of a switch clutter nightmare designing a minimalist house. With thermostats, lights and powered venetian blinds it could have been awful. But these switch arrays look pretty good I think, even though I have to have so many of them. They are designed by the architect Siza Vieira and manufactured by Efapel in Portugal. http://www.efapel.pt/fotos/editor2/EFAPEL_en_quadro45.pdf But I don't know if they'd be usable in UK....See MoreHelp me add wall art to our dining room

Comments (9)Hi Sheron, Kitchen is looking great - is it just just behind the hob you were looking to do? Couple of ideas: 1) could get a piece of clear glass cut to suit and screw in place (with rubber grommets to protect glass) - you can then use it like a picture frame and put photos/maps/postcards etc behind it - and change whenever you want 2) I'm still stalling on what to do with our hob splash back, so I've painted that section of the wall in matching paint, but in an eggshell finish. This means it's wipe-down and keeps the room quite minimal whilst I decide - but I might keep it this way! 3) tiles always look great and are very durable - I'd always recommend getting lots of samples before committing to any of them though 4) you could get a slab of the same worktop material to run up the wall? Re: the stools - whilst not very modern looking, they look fairly robust and reliable - so you could always investigate keeping these and painting these in your chosen feature colour?...See MoreLiving room lighting help
Comments (6)Afternoon, As a rule of thumb the ideal size of a pendant or chandelier can be determined by measuring the length and width of the room in feet and adding them together. Whatever number you arrive at will be the diameter of the fitting in inches. For example, your living room is roughly 14’ x 21’. 14 + 21 = 35 Therefore the ideal size for a pendant or chandelier should be 35 inches. If you’re unhappy with the light output, check the stated lumen output on the fittings you bought and do the same with anything you’re looking at to ensure you get more from the replacements. You should also consider adding another layer of light using table and standard lamps. Doing this will increase the amount of light available and at the same time, because you can choose which lights you have on at any time, gives you a bit more versatility and adds a bit more interest to the room. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Inspyer Lighting Design...See MoreThe Lighting Company
