Bedroom wall paint that coordinates with dark wood floor?

Hi,

Am moving into a new apartment and I'm trying to figure out what paint would match with a dark wood floor. It's a relatively small bedroom and I'm looking for a neutral colour for the walls, not anything too dark. Any suggestions?

Although not a neutral, a gorgeous deep mustard (or olive for a more neutral look) would look great with a dark wood floor whilst keeping a bright feel! Depends how brave you are and what your other furniture would be..

Hi Danielle I am not sure the the two colors you have mentioned will blend well. I fear the Coral Cluster might be too dark in a north facing room. I would try a feature wall with a light pink like this in the link https://www.dulux.co.uk/en/colour-palettes. However there is no harm in buying sample testers for both colors plash them on the wall and see which one is the best option. Have you thought about bright the room up with a mirror and other items like metallic frame? I hope it is of help

Hi Anna, I know it's a pain inheriting an outdated room but how exciting to make it your own! I think a scandi look would really energise and brighten this space too. Take a look at two rooms we have styled in this way. Our blinds fit perfectly in bay window areas allowing extra floor space and not blocking any heat from radiators. This was a colour scheme I always liked Not as dark s you want but I always liked the contrast aginst the mural which re me of your quilt ohh, just on another note, I’d not do a feature wall and the ceiling the same colour, id go all the walls and ceiling an off white as an option , all walls and ceiling the same colour as another and just the feature wall at the third, probably go for a light colour on the floor, I like carpet in the bedroom, if going wood floor I’d have a custom rug that would give a border of @1 1/2 foot of the wooden floor all round the room, yes expensive but I really love the look. my livingroom wasn’t really working for me until I had a custom rug done and it so ties it all together now, I have a border all around and the floor showing below around the edge.

If you’re looking for dark blues, look at Craig and Rose’s Payne’s Grey. Despite the name it is actually the most beautiful shade of deep blue with a hint of grey. I spent months agonising over blues but then got fed up in lockdown and got the Payne’s Grey, despite worrying that it would be too grey for such a dark corner. it is the perfect colour, and I’m looking forward to using it on walls elsewhere. It’s also usually cheaper than F&B and similar if not better quality.
