Any ideas on how to decorate this wall between the stairs and the land
Comments (2)Hi Grace, wallpapers are a great way to add interest in a space, I'd suggest selecting a paper that doesn't have a vertical pattern as it will make the stairway feel taller and narrower. Ideally a paper with an overall pattern, or a horizontal pattern would work best. Here a few ideas: design option 1 & design option 2. I'd recommend adding a radiator cover; as well as hiding the radiator it will also provide a shelf to add photo frames &/or a flower arrangement, as long as you've got enough space on your landing! Hope that helps! PB...See MoreI'm looking for ideas for carpet for my stairs, landing and bedrooms
Comments (3)Personally I’d go for neutral carpets, they should in theory last a lot longer than paint then you’re not so tied to a colour palette when you want to change a room. I’d lift the neutral walls with accent colours for art and accessories and plants will also add some life...See MoreHelp! Light & dark hallway & landing
Comments (13)This carpet (2nd pic) may work with both carpets. I'd go for a runner for the stairs again, I think alternative flooring may do bespoke runners so you could add a colour border for the stairs. Alternatively a sisal Boucle or herringbone would suit the style of the house. I think you need to pick up a few samples. I agree a mirror by your bedroom door And swap to Roman blinds. You could add a chair on the landing as a reading spot or a chest of drawers with a lamp to store paperwork etc. Paint colours maybe look at farrow and ball clunch or slipper satin. It's hard to help with exact things as you don't have any ideabooks set up so no idea of styles or colours you like https://www.johnlewis.com/alternative-flooring-wool-iconic-chevron-loop-carpet/brooklyn/p1913816...See Morelights at top of the stairs/landing - help please
Comments (6)Hi Sarah, Would be great to see a photo but in the meantime please see the following link for inspiration. Spot lights are horrid on stairways! You are right they can almost blind you and generally cast a cold feel over a space. Something that will diffuse the light will be much better and create a cosier ambience whilst providing practical light too for a stairway. Another popular option is downlights of course but this will involve more work. Low profile ceiling lights...See MoreJohn Cullen Lighting
