TV unit decoration challenge s

the attached photo here is from living room and we have green theme as you can make out from curtain.. however we have this unusual location for TV and TV unit/ decoration.. wondering how we can give more characters to this call specially with floating shelves (happy to chuck out existing one) and radiator :(

I would go with radiator cover and floating shelves. Make radiator cover looking as TV console. Check IKEA for floating shelves.

Hi. I would bring forward the sofa about 3ft forward from where it is now. Add a long console/sideboard etc behind the sofa (door ŵall) with a pair of matching table lamps and a set of 8/12 symmetrical art prints over the top. Add a console behind the sofa back facing the kitchen and accessorise (not with lamps!). Move the coffee table in front of the sofa. I'd move the tv to the other side of the fire and have someone make a cabinet to fit the tv just something similar to your yellow one). Pop a couple of lamps on this cabinet. Move the chair to the other corner (but not right in it) and pop a floor lamp or your existing one behind. I'd go for art over the fire, something with mainly a white background picking up a little of your colours. I think a light would be fine over the dining table, it won't lower the ceiling further as you've got the extractor, and as the table isn't symmetrical to the island I think it would work. Alternatively remove the light fitting and have an arc lamp on that rhs ŵall partly over the table.What ŵalls were you looking to decorate? Is the blue going? I think given the colours in the room I'd go grey, white or a duck egg could work for the main ŵalls.

Thank you! Move in any time, as long as you don't mind selling a few bits of furniture while you're there :D You'll be pleased to hear we have started tackling the workshop and, two days of solid reorganisation later, I am exhausted but it's looking better. I'm sure with your skills it would have been done rather more efficiently/quickly but the rain hasn't helped - every time we moved things outside to give ourselves some space, it would start again and we'd be dragging it all back in! On the plus side it helped persuade me to part with some of the damper items ;)

I think a shelf would tie in nicely with the shelves you already have in the alcove, but a tv cabinet isn’t such a terrible thing. You can get some lovely wooden tv units, painted or natural, which will look fine. However a shelf would be far cheaper! Just one bit of advice, don’t get a glass one as it really shows up the dust, even an hour after dusting it, it will need dusting again. Wood is much more forgiving. Here’s a few ideas. 7

Thank you, I’ll try and get samples of the mentioned colours. The reason I’m asking is we decorated the bedroom last year, bought loads of samples, painted them all on each wall to see how the light reflected and they all looked different with different undertones of lilac and blue etc and it got confusing and frustrating spending so much on samples in the end I got a grey colour mixed which we liked but in some lights it has a slight lilac tinge to it. I shades to true greys which will look good in a large room that faces north and south. Here is a sample of the bedroom but didn’t want to go as dark for the living room ,”. ,”.

From looking at the picture I'd say the radiator and the TV set up are clashing with each other for space. If you can sacrifice the radiator and you have enough heat from elsewhere in the room then you can make that area just about the TV unit. I'd also recommend hiding the cables from the TV into the wall as well. Do you know if that wall is a stud wall or a brick wall? Stud would be very easy to conceal the cables, brick would be a little bit messier.
