Hi Alan, we used the same doors from for our little study. After the decorator had painted them & we removed the protective film from the glass we saw that the paint had bled into the inner frame. Unfortunately there is no way to remove the glass to paint the inner frame so that section will always remain untreated & ours looks worse because of the paint bleeding. Such a shame because from afar the doors look great....just don’t inspect them too closely! When we queried it with the decorator he said the film was there to protect painting errors whereas the big shed said it was there solely to protect the glass & that the decorator had used too much paint on the brush. I love your style. If you are after industrial, geometric style then you do great. With the minimalist style if I was you I would ask myself e.g.: How many chairs I have got in the dining room and why? Answer: because I am having bigger family, or friends around, (or simply) I really like that table with that amount of the chairs. That is all great. Now - how many lights I have got in the dining room and why? Answer: because I don't know what else to put there or where else to put the lights and I like them. OK, do you really like it? If yes, leave it there, but if you feel like there is something not quite right about it, like light on the table while there is light from the ceiling, take one out (of course the ceiling light is absolutely gorgeous). As minimalist I wouldn't want anything which doesn't do any purpose, so dry flowers would go all out of my house. In your case I would use on the table long tray of succulent. It will make the room feel fresh (instead of dry). Or if you like fruit, I would put a large probably metal, glass, or porcelain bowl with fruit on in (avoid wooden container on wooden table). Very large rug under the table would soften the feel too, but if you prefer dining area without rug a have rug by the sofa (which that would be my choice) I I would put a large, textured, but simple tapestry on the wall and maybe large clock on the opposite wallpapered wall. In any room I would avoid flowers in the vase and instead I would get nice, large indoor plants, which are easy to look after (they are not that expensive too and make the home feel so fresh and alive/living.

Hello decor178 Oh I thought they were oils on canvas. Yes I would have looked for similar but not identical. Still you could hang them differently, for instance horizontal - vertical- blue top - black top so they would appear to compliment if hung differently as opposed to the same. Given they are in separate rooms. That would be my suggestion or if you don't like that idea then something different. Or add to them with more. :))

Hi Tani, I have an ikea kitchen. I wanted wood doors and nothing traditional and ikea did oak doors that I liked. What swung it for me was reading about how many architects use ikea. One thing I know is that they use very good designers, so their stuff tends to be 'clever'. You do have to construct the carcasses and some fitters don't like this. What is good is that the carcasses hang off a steel rail. This is attached to the wall and then all of the cupboards hang in a straight line and then the feet are adjusted at the front. My carpenter adjusted my units as he was fitting them, even reducing the depth at times, so the whole thing was bespoke. The other thing is that they are much bigger. They go much nearer to the floor and the kick plates are virtually invisible, this looks more contemporary. They are deeper to so you can't get a standard off the shelf worktop. I paid the same for the fitting as the cost of the units, in my opinion it's all about the fitting. Most carpenter use Howdens as they have accounts and it's familiar to them. I also saved money by using a thin layer of quartz over moisture resistant MDF (a bit like an engineered floor). Whole thing was 16K including removing a load bearing wall, plastering, electrics, kitchen everything.
