Kitchen cabinet paint colours
Comments (305)Hi All, I am hoping someone can help me!!!!!!! I recently painted my kitchen units in F&b Cornforth White. I am looking for a colour to compliment on the walls. I don't have a main wall as such i'm painting as going to feature brick effect paper...I have 2 large double sliding doors that open into the sitting room. I have testers of Worsted, but thinking it could be very dark. (the splashback will be coming down) i'm undecided on to go dark or light - plus painter coming tomorrow!!!! Kitchen units F&b Cornforth White doors into sitting room the left is Worsted and right is winter truffle (dulux I think)!...See MorePainted kitchen cabinets
Comments (5)Hi allyallyally3 we supply handmade painted kitchens, we offer Raw to be handpainted on site or pre painted (sprayed in our factory) both can be repainted in the future if you want a colour change. The general advice we give customers is if they have pets o young children (both tend to cause damage to a kitchen!) we would recommend getting a hand painted finish, this means you can then just get your pot out dab it on and it should be almost invisible. Whereas a spray painted kitchen will have a very clean finish, but touching up if scratched can be a bigger problem to get a nice finish hope this helps regards CKD Link to advice on our website...See MoreUsing Hammerite metal paint for kitchen cabinets
Comments (2)I have no experience of this, but would imagine that without a suitable all purpose primer like Zinsser 1-2-3, it could be a recipe for disaster. I don't think painting with hammerite is going to give a nice smooth glossy finish. If you want a uniform metallic finish then go for metallic car paint. Spray it on in very thin layers, leave to thoroughly dry and then seal with a gloss laquer. You don't need the primer with the car paint, you just need a light sand and thorough clean. I know this works, as have done it myself....See MoreWhat brand of paint for kitchen cabinets?
Comments (5)I personally would not use any brand of eggshell paint on a kitchen cupboard, it is not robust enough for the job. Gloss or satinwood is what you should be looking at. I've always used Dulux, but have recently defected to Valspar ( crown ) at B&Q due to issues with colour mixing, colour matching. We have just painted our utility room using this including plastic pipework. It's holding up great. ( Valspar for wood and metal is what i've used ) - Just get a good all round primer which will be dictated to by the type of cupboard door you have - The Armstead range of primers at Dulux trade centres is great paint....See MoreBettie Waddle
