Help - which curtain heading?

Hello

I'm looking for curtains for a sqaure bay window in bedroom and have no clue as to which curtain heading to go for, I would prefer a modern style if possible but not one that looks cheap. Does anyone recommend any? Does anyone actually care/notice what type you have?

I bet the only person that would notice would be a seamstress or designer ! Most people would be more interested in talking to you and catching up !!

Thanks OnePlan, very true! Also, it's in the bedroom so no-one will see it and I don't have any interior designer friends so I'm safe there! I should re-post and and ask the question 'What does my curtain heading say about me' haha.

Hi Newbie ! Thanks for email ! So no toddlers and south facing ! Minimal, neat and tidy ... Ok I'd say White curtains with a sheer curtain too in a silver or pale pink, hung behind that could be used separately as a light defuser or as a lining in winter might work ? Simple, Elegant and will help create the illusion of a larger space.

Good evening!. Well your bay window shape is beautiful and you should make this a feature. Is privacy an issue?, if so opt for plantation shutters where light can still stream in, they look fantastic from the outside too. If privacy isn't an issue, I'd suggest Roman blinds in a beautiful fabric. Romans are a great way of creating a high end look on a limited budget as you don't need a lot of fabric so can opt for a statement fabric. Choose fabric first, lick out a neutral an tailor paint around that. The furniture looks ill fitting, consider a neutral leather with amazing cushions. Lighting is always an issue, and your accent lighting needs to enhance the rooms best side. Lighting these days doesn't need to be expensive to add beautiful statements to a room, look out for filament bulbs, they are amazing, and very cost effective!.

Hello Ffion. As it was already mentioned above it is not recommendable to sleep with a window behind your head. Can you upload some more pictures of your bedroom? Just to have an idea how it is organised. I believe there is always solution ;). You can believe or not but your sleeping problems may be caused more by the placement of your bed then street lights. Your room is looking lovely and light. You haven't mentioned if you are reusing your red sofa again or changing the furniture. The heading that you choose is a reflection of the style you're trying to create. Eyelets are fine if you never close the curtains and want a very contemporary look, but cartridge pleats would look plush and more transitional. I'm assuming from the previous comments that you intend to use a pole. You will need to take it to the left hand wall, but leave wall showing on the right since your patio doors are not symmetrically placed. You can use a chunky pole 50-60mm diameter and a WOW finial. Use interlining for a luxurious look. The curtains will be dearer but will last longer, especially if your doors face south. If you do want to use silk, select a wide contrasting cotton border on the leading edges to deal with fading.

I also agree. In my bedroom I have triple pleat, only I notice and barely at that. I'd just have standard in the future.

The curtain style gives a subtle difference but is one that can still elevate a room! A wave pleat is a good modern option as it creates a boutique style with uniform pleats using a wave track system.

A sail pleat is also a popular option as it uses less fabric and has a simple heading, but is still very elegant.

A pinch or double/triple pleat gives a bit more of a classic look. We hope this helps! :)

Hiya,

Although not the be all and end all, curtain headings change the way curtains hang and so can change things like how a pattern or texture appears.

Just as London Essentials has suggested, a wave pleat would be a brilliant option. Here's an example of how they look:
