Unsure which walls to feature in my unsymmetrical living room :-(
Comments (13)Thank you guys for suggestions - I like the idea of coloured blinds in the windows Pat Oliver designs - trouble is, we are quite close to the road hence why we chose in the end the wooden Venetian blinds for privacy - although with the wall colour they make everything look orange (the colour on walls is "hot sand" by homebase but is more orangy than I had hoped :-( Its very hard to know what colour to paint the room with the biscuit carpet, and natural wood...I can't really change too much as we don't have a budget. I was hoping to get the look and definition I wanted by paint/paper...but might speak to my hubby to see if we could get some more shelving. Minnie - yes good idea about putting back a little of the wall - I was thinking the same myself - although there is only one door to the room and it is smack bang in the middle on opposite wall which makes things more complicated. :-( I imagine it would be expensive though as you say. I have been trying to find pics of rooms with 2 chimney breasts myself so if you do find some, please can you post them for me as I would love to see them. Thank you both again for your comments xx...See MoreNeed serious help with Living Room plan!
Comments (21)You ve removed the gas fire. can we have a pic of what it looks like in side. The chimney on the roof looks like a long rectangle so presumably some one has turned the fire place to face the room in the living room.? is it the same angle in the room above. ? there does seem to look like it is structural but not at that angle but to change it back to a corner fire place would be a mistake, you will need a guy from a fire place shop to tell you what type of fire you could have depending on the flue size. then either go for a build in off the ground modern look or an open hearth with a log burner in it. or whatever style your going for ?...See MoreHelp with bringing an open plan room together
Comments (13)Beautiful kitchen, and I too love the curtains. Are they Laura Ashley? I think there aren’t enough rings on the pole and that’s why the curtains are dipping a bit. You can buy extra curtain rings which will make a huge difference. I also thing a tie back hook on each curtain will tidy things up a bit If there is space. That wall is crying out for a nice bold colour on it and I think Inchyra Blue will do the trick. It is such a lovely teal-green-blue and will bring in another element to the room. I also like De Nimes. I also think a chocolate hue on the wall will tie in nicely with the taupe of your units, but may be a bit dark! A nice neutral rug in taupe or grey would finish the look.
